Become a Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities Good Life Ambasador
You can become a Good Life Ambassador (GLA).
GLAs share their perspectives and lived experiences to help increase disability acceptance and inclusion in the community.
GLAs present on topics ranging from tips for interacting with people with disabilities to the importance of equity and inclusion everywhere.
Adult residents in Cuyahoga County with developmental disabilities are invited to review the position, responsibilities, and qualifications.

Disability Access Day at West Side Market on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This inclusive community event will feature accessible shopping support, ASL interpreters, a mobile sensory space, accessible restrooms, and transportation and parking accommodations. Visitors can explore fresh produce, meats, bakery items, prepared foods, and more from Cleveland’s historic public market. Many vendors also accept SNAP payments.

Did you know that not all assistance animals are legally considered service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act?
According to the ADA National Network, service animals are specifically defined as dogs individually trained to perform tasks for a person with a disability. In some cases, miniature horses may also qualify under ADA guidelines.

Relocation Services
SIL staff can assist program participants to seamlessly transition from a facility (nursing home, hospital, or institution) back into the community.
SIL staff work closely with individuals to help locate housing, work through the waiver application process, obtain personal documents, securing furniture and household items, and so much more.
