What a weekend hosting our two Montgomery County Recreation events! I want to take a moment to thank everyone who worked so hard to produce two fabulous 4th of July and MoCo 250 celebrations. Both events were tremendous successes and provided our community with the opportunity to create lifelong memories and celebrate this important milestone in the history of our County and Country together.

As we get ready for our celebrations on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, here are some key things to be aware of:

📢 Both events are now scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. with fireworks around 9:30 p.m.
🌞 Plan ahead for the heat. We encourage everyone to bring a reusable water bottle and stay hydrated throughout the evening
✅ Bring a fan or cooling towel and dress for the heat. Small handheld fans or cooling towels are easy ways to beat the heat while waiting for the fireworks to begin.

Our goal is for everyone to have fun and stay safe! We want families to enjoy a wonderful night of music, fireworks and community celebration.

Great visits to Damascus CRC and Wheaton High School this weekend to see our AWESOME Montgomery County Recreation flag football program in action! Thanks to the Baltimore Ravens and Washington Commanders for joining us to close out the season. 🏈 And of course a big shoutout to our Rec team members who help keep this program growing season after season.
