The White Salmon Valley Pool Metropolitan Park District (WSVPMPD) has reached a series of major milestones, moving the long-anticipated community pool project significantly closer to construction.

“Over the past several months, the project has gained strong momentum through a combination of public funding, community support, and critical pre-construction progress,” said a news release.

More than $1 million has been raised through state and community support in the last six months — $500,000 in state funding and $528,000 in donations, with Steve and Diane Maier jumpstarting the local fundraising campaign with a challenge match.

Thanks to the Columbia Gorge News for the write up!

This project has always been about more than a pool - it’s about access.

Access for kids who don’t have another safe place to swim in the summer.
Access for families who can’t drive hours for swim lessons or water aerobics.
Access for seniors, students, and neighbors of all ages who deserve affordable, local ways to move, connect, and stay healthy. 🌊

The new White Salmon Valley Pool is about removing barriers - geographic, financial, and physical - so everyone in our community has a place to belong.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support that’s brought this project so far. We're closing in on completing the $250,000 matching gift so double your splash while you still can. 🦩🛟

Thank you for helping make this a pool for everyone. 💙
