Thank you for all the donations from the last time we posted about our friend, Nicole. She has told us how much this has meant to her, how much it's helped her, and that she can't express her gratitude enough.
She didn't ask that we post this again. But we decided we were going to anyway.
Nicole Alvarez's hardships are not over, and a donation or share would mean a lot to a family in need.
For those that don't know about Nicole's story, about a year ago her husband Roberto Diego Alvarez Oliva was taken by ICE. All he was doing was entering a grocery store. He had been in the US for three years, was married, had a step-son and an eight-month old son. He had no criminal record, and was on his way to citizenship. He entered the country legally. And now he's back in Peru, trying to support his family from afar.
Since then, Nicole has been providing for her children as a single parent. Helping them work through the loss of a father, deal with the fear of living in a place that can take someone away so suddenly, keep up with bills and costs and of course work on legal support for Roberto.
And of course Roberto cannot be with his family. He cannot watch his son grow up, or catch the small milestones he achieves. He can't hear his laughter everyday, he can't wipe tears. He can't see how his step-son and son grow and bond. He can't tell them "I love you" whenever he wants.
And now they have been dealt another horrible blow recently. Nicole's mother has late stage COPD and needs a lung transplant.
Friends, if you could give even a small donation to this family, we know this would mean the world to them.
Thank you for everything you do, we truly are one of the greatest communities in PA. ❤
