The Eastside Hub house will be closed. We are excited to have Dr. Emmanuel Mensah, Jacqueline Ortiz, and Shelley Nix, who will discuss how ChristianaCare connects with community members to improve health outcomes for them and their families.

When a room fills like this, you can feel the future being built. Teens, elders, families, and neighbors multi-generational culture building at its best. This winter celebration reminded us that violence intervention starts with community, connection, and showing up for one another. The night was about more than celebration it was about connection. We shared a great meal, were moved by a beautiful dance performance, and honored the neighborhood heroes from East Side and Northeast Wilmington who help carry this violence intervention work forward. Teens, families, and elders filled the room, reminding us that real change happens when generations come together.

We are inviting you to the Community Public Safety Initiative’s Public Safety Round Table Winter Celebration on December 16, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. The Northside and Eastside Hub houses will be closed during this event, which will take place at the Community Education Building, 1200 N French St, 3rd Floor, Wilmington, DE 19801. Melody Phillips, Interim Director of Parks and Recreation, will also give an overview of the programs the City Parks and Recreation Department is supporting this summer for youth in the City, and how to access those services. The Wilmington Street Team will also share flyers and other summer engagement opportunities for the youth and their families.

We will also have Brett Swan, Energy Programs Manager/Principal Planner, and Sam Ramos, Planner, Green Energy Fund Lead, as guest speakers to give an overview of the Weatherization Assistance Program, the Solar Panel Installation Program, and how to access those services.
