Fellow State Senate candidate, Braxton Siefert, and I hit the pavement early and talked to people around Winona before everyone’s Halloween festivities began.

I had an extremely positive reception from everyone. “I hope you win!” and “I already voted for you!” are two phrases I’ve heard often the last week. Every single time, I am humbled and enormously grateful.

A lot of people cheer quietly, pray behind closed doors, and talk to friends and family in private. Grassroots support is not always loud; it is often exemplified in the calm confidence of people who know what’s right, so they vote and act accordingly. That is how I was raised, too.

No matter what happens on Tuesday, I have been blessed beyond measure! Thank you to everyone for your positivity, joy, encouragement, and authenticity! Of course, as any wise athlete does, I’m pretending that finish line is farther out, and I’m sprinting with all my might to blast through that finish line with burning lungs, aching legs, and the victory of giving it my all. Each of you deserves that kind of effort, and I’m glad to give it.

Before knocking doors this afternoon, my family and I had a team meeting with my dad. My dad is a Vietnam veteran, and he has worked his entire life. When I talk to seniors who are worried about Social Security and are trying to figure out how to finance their futures while still leaving something behind for their children and grandchildren, I want you to know that I understand, and my family is in the trenches with you. In my personal life, I am a staunch advocate for taking care of Veterans and seniors. I’m also supportive of those who are advocating and planning for long-term care for our seniors.

You are not forgotten, and your future matters, too.

One recent evening, I was walking and came upon an emergency. With one percent battery left on my phone, the last thing I was able to do before my phone died was dial 911 and give my location. The dispatcher was kind and calm, giving me directions. The phone died, and I waited at the scene.

Within a few minutes, there were multiple first responders who worked swiftly, professionally, and with incredible care. While watching the first responders tend to the person in need, my heart was filled with so much gratitude and awe.

On this National First Responders Day, I simply want to say thank you to all first responders who work so hard and so selflessly through all kinds of emergencies.

Always fun when the campaign and life intersect! Tonight my daughter had a volleyball game in Wykoff, and I got to spend time knocking doors there before the game.

I talked to a number of seniors who are worried about social security, healthcare and longterm care, and feeling respected as lifelong taxpayers of Minnesota.

We agreed that taxes on social security need to end. We also talked about the necessity of having a plan for those who have contributed to our state their entire lives.

As always, it’s an incredible privilege to talk with you at your doors. With one week to election, I feel exhilarated, energized, and very blessed!

I am immensely grateful for every endorsement I have received. The ones named on this poster are widely recognized by many people in Minnesota, and it is impossible to express what an honor it is to be the one to receive these endorsements in Senate District 26. It is a task of integrity and heart to fill out questionnaires, be interviewed, and wait to hear if people decided they can trust you. I’m so blessed they did, and I don’t take it lightly.

The farmers in SE Minnesota deserve a voice. Our police and peace officers deserve a voice. Businesses deserve a voice. Women in leadership deserve a voice. Entrepreneurs deserve a voice. Families deserve a voice.

It has been one of the greatest privileges of my life to hear from individuals and organizations about how policy affects their everyday lives. As your State Senator, I will work hard for the people, businesses, farms, and families of SE Minnesota.

Visiting Harmony this weekend was a true gift. I knocked doors and talked to friendly, open folks of all ages: Veterans, seniors, young singles, and families. One thing that really stood out to me was their support for one another and love of their community. It’s what makes us “us” in Senate District 26: We really are here for one another.

After knocking doors, I realized I needed a wedding card and gift, so I stopped at my first shop. While ringing me up, the sales associate told me about the other awesome shops I should visit and what gifts I could get there. That really stood out to me. The pride and love she showed for other businesses was exactly how we might hype up a brother or sister or best friend.

This campaign has made me double down on my love for where I live. We are truly blessed to have each other, and I’m grateful for every soul I’ve met and those I have yet to meet.

I could not ask for better weather for a busy week of knocking doors and talking to neighbors all over District 26! The colors are astounding, the temperature has been perfect, and conversations have been plentiful.

A theme I often hear is “common sense”. When I ask people what they’re hoping for, I often hear something like this: “I just want things to be normal. Things have gotten so extreme in our state, and we need to come back to the middle and have common sense to solve problems. Let’s find out what we agree on, work on that, and then go from there.”

The constant trashing of political candidates is exhausting for everyone during election season, and then the sometimes-extreme views and policies passed by some legislators at the Capitol makes people in SE Minnesota feel even more isolated.

I am so grateful to hear your ideas and to work hard so I represent your reasonable, common sense concerns. We are in this together! With only 10 days left until election, I pray that our right to vote brings us all peace in the chaos. We’ve got this!

It has been fun to visit Winona State University during my campaign! I love talking with college age students. Between teaching high school and engaging with college students, I am hopeful for the future because of the many bright minds I encounter. This is why it’s even more critical that we pave a great path for them and celebrate the freedom that we have to talk openly.

In this video, you will see two brilliant young women with whom I had the pleasure of speaking. A friend of mine caught the end of our conversation on video, where we had been talking about restoring decency in politics and holding ourselves to a higher standard of mutual respect. I can’t control anyone else, but I can control myself and lead the way.

Thank you to all of the students who’ve taken the time to stop and talk with me in the last two weeks. I appreciate you!

In this cheap and disgusting ad against me, the Winona County democrats exploit my family and foster children. They think they have a “gotcha”, except I have said many times at events that we are no longer licensed with this organization. We exited that system to protect our children, and I actually reported one of the fraudulent facilities run by this organization in 2024/2025 because of the experiences one of our children had.

This is not ignoring fraud; what I am doing is the opposite. Running for State Senate is a way I can do something about the fraud we saw firsthand. In an effort NOT to exploit my precious kids, I was quiet about the details. But thank you to the Winona Democrat party for forcing me to use their stories to explain this - something I never wanted to have to do. You should be ashamed. If you really cared about kids in foster care and these issues, you would have asked me directly at the different forums recently. Instead, you prove my point when I say I want to advocate for youth and work against those who would use them for personal gain.

As your State Senator, I WILL fight to put an end to fraud by going in and changing policy directly at the source. We have seen it, and we know what it looks like. I have the experience to call out the failures of multiple systems that have led to this, just like I did on a smaller level before we exited this organization.

Next time you want to use my family for your agenda, DON’T.

At the doors, I’ve been meeting a lot of independent voters. These conversations are always awesome!

One circulating idea I have been hearing is that if you disagree with anything federally right now, then you need to throw out all conservatives and Republicans. People are being told that everyone who is Republican is bought or corrupted by one man. These are lies from slam ads and biased media.

Your local candidates are running to improve your city, county, or state. For my seat in particular, look at the policies specifically in Minnesota. Ask yourself what is working for families, farmers, and businesses — and what isn’t. Peruse websites and talk to candidates. Ask the hard questions.

Hopefully, this video also helps!
