October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to recognize and support survivors and families affected by domestic violence in our community.

The Woodburn Police Department remains committed to promoting safety, hope, and justice for survivors. We continue to strengthen our response through ongoing investigative training, expanded victim resources, multi-agency collaboration, and enforcement efforts.

Our officers also participate in collaborative teams and committees focused on improving domestic violence response and creating lasting, positive change in our community.

This year, the Woodburn Police Department introduced a new wallet-sized Victim Rights Guide with expanded information about available resources and support services. Because many crimes can overlap, particularly those involving domestic violence, the guide provides important resource information for victims of all crimes. The guide can be accessed on the Department's website: https://or-woodburn.civicplus.com/940/Resources-and-other-helpful-links

If you or someone you know needs help, call the Police Department at 503-982-2345 or visit the Woodburn Police Department’s Resources page ( https://or-woodburn.civicplus.com/940/Resources-and-other-helpful-links) for local support and services. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or experiencing an emergency, call 911.
----
Octubre es el mes de concientización sobre la violencia doméstica, un momento para reconocer y apoyar a los sobrevivientes y a las familias afectadas por ella en nuestra comunidad.

Compassion in Action

While investigating a domestic violence incident, the victim’s dog was running around in a parking lot. Officer Ponce stepped in to keep an eye on the dog, offering treats, pets, and company while officers handled the call.

Small acts of kindness make a big difference.
