Pennwood Cyber Charter School Our school uses the nationally recognized Connections Academy program, a proven core model of virtual learning.

Serving Pennsylvania students in grades K–12 with a full-time, taxpayer-funded public cyber charter school and the kind of connection that helps kids grow into confident learners. We believe meaningful connections drive better academic outcomes, so we build a strong circle of support that unites students, families, and educators. We create a high-quality educational experience that helps keep students engaged in a safe learning environment. Beyond academics, our teachers focus on building fundamental life skills, partnering with families to help students learn how they learn best. Here, students gain the skills needed to thrive in the real world by becoming resourceful and resilient. Our school is authorized by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Just a few highlights from some of our recent adventures! From a wildlife safari park and a wolf sanctuary to a day of fall fun at the farm, the Pennwood Pack has been making memories.

One of our favorite parts of what we do is traveling across the state and getting to spend time with our students and families in person. Seeing familiar faces, making new connections, laughing together, and creating memories outside of the virtual classroom is what being part of the Pennwood Pack is all about.

No matter where in PA our families call home, we’re one Pack, and we love every opportunity to come together. 💜

Anyone who knows Mr. Herndon knows that he is truly a source of light at Pennwood and beyond! 💜 His kindness, positivity, and genuine care for others shine through in everything he does. He has an incredible way of connecting with his students and making them feel supported and confident.

Whether he’s teaching his 5th graders, spending time outdoors, or playing guitar on stage, Mr. Herndon brings his passion and positive energy wherever he goes! 🎸✨ We’re so lucky to have him at Pennwood.

We had an AMAZING day at the Philadelphia Zoo last Friday! 🐘🐯🐒💜

We truly couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to explore America’s first zoo with members of our Pennwood Pack! It was a day full of smiles, learning, and memories.

We had such a fun day exploring the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium! Staff and families spent the day seeing some incredible animals, connecting with one another, and making memories together outside of the virtual classroom.

We love getting to bring our Pack together across Pennsylvania and create opportunities to learn, explore, and have plenty of fun along the way. 💜

Our Meet the Pack Spotlight series is back! 💜
We’re kicking things off with Ms. Jackie Lied, Strategic Operations Lead!

Jackie has been part of our school since the beginning and has played such an important role in helping shape our school into the community it is today. She is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and always willing to jump in wherever she is needed.

Her genuine care for our students, families, and staff is just one of the many reasons we’re so grateful to have her in our Pack.

Outside of school, Jackie has a huge heart for animals and regularly volunteers with the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area. 🐾

Thank you, Jackie, for being part of Pennwood’s story from the very beginning and for continuing to make our Pack stronger! 💜
