III Marine Amphibious Force in Viet Nam

Happy 249th Birthday to my fellow U.S Marine Corps brothers and sisters.

Doing my job "in country": Me on the left explaining that the water tower in the background must be "paid" for by the South Vietnamese army. The Vietnamese General was not happy and thought we should just give it to him. The Corporal next to him was the translator and the man to the extreme right was my Liason. My job was to survey, map, estimate costs and to turn over all U.S. Marine Corps property, bases and Landing Zones in I Corps as the Marines left Viet Nam.
What is funny is that they actually did not "pay" for anything. It was being given to them by the U.S. government. This base was on Marble Mountain, just south of Danang.

Happy 248th Birthday Marines !!

We have had some one ask: I'm hoping someone on your page might know who these servicemen might be!
My father served in Hoi An in 1968-1970 with the Korean Marines (Blue Dragons).
He is looking for friends from the US marines (MPs) that he parted ways with in Danang (3rd maf).
His name is Duckchun Choi.
