Goal #12: Responsible Consumption & Production

The goal "Sustainable Consumption & Production" is about promoting resources on efficient energy, sustainable infrastructure, and providing access to basic services, decent jobs and a better quality of life for all. Its implementation helps to achieve overall development plans, reduced future economic, environmental and social costs, strengthening economic competitiveness and reduce poverty.

This goal is to do more with less, and doing it better indeed — building sustainable infrastructure, ensuring efficient use of natural resources, generating cleaner energy and less waste. Goal #8: Decent Work & Economic Growth

Most of the world’s population live below the breadline, which is influenced by poverty as well. A factor that influences this as well as the lack of proper work opportunities that lead to an uneven distribution of economic growth. To ensure that sustainable economic growth takes place, it is essential that decent job opportunities are created for all people across the working-age group.

Sustainable Development Goal 8 promotes sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all. Roughly half the world's population still lives on the equivalent of about US $2 a day, and in too many places, having a job does not guarantee an escape from poverty. Slow and uneven progress in this area requires us to rethink and retool our economic and social policies aimed at eradicating poverty. A continued lack of decent work opportunities, insufficient investments, and under-consumption lead to an erosion of the basic social contract underlying democratic societies: that all must share in progress. Sustainable economic growth will require societies to create conditions that allow people to have quality jobs that stimulate the economy while not harming the environment.

Goal #4: Quality Education

Education is a human right and a force for sustainable development and peace. Every goal in the 2030 Agenda requires education to empower people with the knowledge, skills and values to live in dignity, build their lives and contribute to their societies.

A quality education is the foundation of sustainable development, and therefore of the Sustainable Development Goals. As a policy intervention, education is a force multiplier which enables self-reliance, boosts economic growth by enhancing skills, and improves people’s lives by opening up opportunities for better livelihoods.

The Sustainable Development targets for 2030 call for ensuring the completion of primary and secondary education by all boys and girls, and guaranteeing equal access to opportunities for access to quality technical and vocational education for everyone. Policy interventions will require improving access and improving quality, as well addressing relevant obstacles which include gender inequalities, food insecurity, and armed conflict.

The mega event "International Symposium on SDGs 2019", going to be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan - focuses on 5 major goals out of 17 SDGs. Thus, we will be introducing the selected goals in 5 posts.

Sustainable Development Goal #3 seeks to ensure health and well-being for all, at every stage of life. This goal addresses all the major health priorities, including reproductive, maternal and child health; communicable, non-communicable and environmental diseases; universal health coverage; and access for all to safe, effective, qualified, and affordable medicines and vaccines. It also calls for more research and development, increased health financing, and strengthened the capacity of all countries in health risk reduction and management.

The Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) #3 “Ensuring a healthy life and promoting well-being for all ages” is one of the most transversal goals, which is interconnected with other SDGs. The health and well-being are the aims of this goal - plus, they are the result of other goals that empower people to develop in different social, economic and productive fields. The SDG #3, is a multiple and universal resource on which sustainable development policies can be based, in particular for the most needed countries, and can lead to the sustainable maintenance of well-being and health.

The SDG #3, combines two main ideas:
1) Health is a universal right but is also an insurance capital that allows the settlement of the sustainable development of nations.
2) Welfare is a state, related to different physical or psychological factors — separately or jointly considered
