The Office of the Deputy Governor of the Virgin Islands announces the appointment of Mr. Kenrico O. Wheatley Jr. as Deputy Supervisor of Elections in accordance with section 3(2) of the Elections Amendment Act, 1994.

Mr. Wheatley is an experienced public officer, having served six years across both the Ministry of Health at Social Development and in the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports.

Yesterday, the Office of the Deputy Governor announced the introduction of the Elections (Amendment) Bill, 2025, aimed at transforming elections in the Virgin Islands.

The Supervisor of Elections hails the proposed legislation as "A necessary stride."

New Bill to Transform Elections in the Virgin Islands

The Elections (Amendment) Bill, 2025 has been read for a first time in the House of Assembly and has been subsequently released via the Virgin Islands Official Gazette. Members of the public are invited to read the new Bill which proposes transformative changes to the Office of the Supervisor of Elections and elections administration in the Virgin Islands.
