Welcome to the OFFICIAL Lockhart K - 8 School page. In 1995 the original school was destroyed by Hurricane Marilyn.
Built in 1962, the Sugar Estate Elementary School was renamed the Lockhart Elementary School by Act No. 937 approved by the Fifth Legislature on February 21, 1963. This was done to recognize the humanitarian qualities and honorable acts of the late Alfred Harris Lockhart, Sr, patriarch of the Lockhart Family.
