Summer Opportunities!
Sharpen your skills and gain priceless experience by working for the summer in the fields of aviation, marine and port management. The Virgin Islands Port Authority is now accepting applications for its six-week Summer Employment Program on St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas. Applicants must be between the ages of 15 - 25. Excellent opportunity for youths interested in Marine Biology!
Are you thinking about what activities your teenager can do this summer? Do they love marine biology and the ocean? SEA is now accepting applications for the 2018 Coral Conservation Corps! Our 2-week summer program takes teens to coastal beaches to study their marine environment and marine organisms. Students will have a number of opportunities to closely observe and study coral reefs, marine fishes, and environmental threats. This unique program will take place at The Buccaneer Resort mid-July. We do adventurous field trips to Cane Bay, Buck Island, East End Marine Park and more! Ages 13-16 are accepted. Contact 773-1989 or email [email protected] to get an application. VIDOL IN SEARCH OF EMPLOYERS AND ORGANIZATIONS TO PROVIDE WORK EXPERIENCE AND CAREER EXPLORATION ACTIVITIES FOR YOUTH
The Deadline is Soon Approaching!
The Virgin Islands Department of Labor (VIDOL) is accepting and processing Summer Youth Employment applications for the 2018 Summer Youth Experience and Training Program.
All "In and Out of School" Youth between the ages of 14 - 25 are invited to register for the approximate five hundred and seventy (570) available slots. All 14 & 15 year old youth are eligible for the Career Exploration program. While applications continue to be received throughout the year for other programs and activities, youth are strongly encouraged to submit their applications for summer experience by Friday, May 4th!
Applications are available from the department's website athttp://vidol.gov/data/dol_forms/stxsummer.pdf under the Forms tab and can be submitted electronically to [email protected] (St. Thomas/St. John district) [email protected] (St. Croix district). They can also be picked up at any of the Department of Labor office locations and the St. John's Administrator's Office.
A Summer Employment Fact Sheet, http://vidol.gov/data/dol_forms/53.pdf, providing additional information for participants and parents, is available online.
This summer, priority will be applied to individuals who submit complete applications accompanied with supporting documents, and have not previously participated in a work experience
are High School Juniors and Seniors are Out-of-School/Unemployed & Dislocated Youth Youth under the age of 18 should be accompanied by a parent/guardian to sign authorization for participation in the program.
All selected applicants must provide proof of enrollment in college or high school, evidence of a social security card
photo ID, copy of a resume, if available, and proof of income.
