I had the absolute honor of attending the ribbon cutting for Pentagon Federal Credit Union’s first-ever location in the U.S. Virgin Islands, which opened February 17, 2026, at Tutu Park Mall on St. Thomas.

For years a significant amount of service members, Veterans, and military families have been loyal PENFED members without local, in-person access unless they travel to the mainland United States. That gap has finally been addressed. This is more than a branch opening — it’s a meaningful step forward in financial access, and recognition of our military community.

Notably, PENFED’s commitment was immediate, stepping into the community as a sponsor of the “Armed Forces” softball team — a team made up of Veterans and their family members competing in the upcoming Governmental Softball League. That kind of engagement matters.

While this milestone is significant, the work continues. I will continue advocating for expanded access across the territory so more Veterans and military families can benefit where they live.

Grateful to PENFED and all partners who made this possible. Proud to have witnessed another form of progress for those who served.
