The Virgin Islands Office of Disaster Recovery recognizes National Homeownership and American Housing Month. To celebrate, ODR encourages residents to inquire about our "Own A Lot, Build A Home" program which has just undergone a significant program expansion.

Good News Friday

The Office of Disaster Recovery's EnVIsion Tomorrow program along with Brothers Construction turned over another set of keys to a happy homeowner on St. Croix, increasing the total number of completed homes to 92.

WAPA’s Chief Operations Officer of Electric, Lemuel Lavinier, and Mechanical Engineer Genderson Dominguez, joined by ODR’s Odari Thomas and HKT Energy’s Clinton Hendrington, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at Central States Diesel Generators, for the testing of four (4) new emergency generation units designated for St. John.

Each new Cummins Power Generation unit produces 2.5 MW of power and will provide 10 MW of power to St. John for a dedicated emergency power source during generation outages from the Randolph Harley Power Plant or other power supply challenges.
