Good News Friday

The Office of Disaster Recovery's EnVIsion Tomorrow program along with Brothers Construction turned over another set of keys to a happy homeowner on St. Croix, increasing the total number of completed homes to 92.

WAPA’s Chief Operations Officer of Electric, Lemuel Lavinier, and Mechanical Engineer Genderson Dominguez, joined by ODR’s Odari Thomas and HKT Energy’s Clinton Hendrington, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at Central States Diesel Generators, for the testing of four (4) new emergency generation units designated for St. John.

Each new Cummins Power Generation unit produces 2.5 MW of power and will provide 10 MW of power to St. John for a dedicated emergency power source during generation outages from the Randolph Harley Power Plant or other power supply challenges.

Governor Albert Bryan Jr. Speaks on Upcoming School Construction Projects on St. Croix

Following the St. Croix Central High School groundbreaking ceremony held on April 21, 2026, by the Virgin Islands Office of Disaster Recovery (ODR), Virgin Islands Department of Education (VIDE), and Consigli/Benton Joint Venture, Governor Albert Bryan Jr. spoke with ODR's Sheniece Rouse about what is in store for VIDE and upcoming construction projects.

The ODR will continue to support partner agencies and residents of the Virgin Islands through reconstruction efforts, ensuring a resilient, sustainable future for the territory.
