Today we honour the late Honorable H.Lavity Stoutt! .
Born on March 7th 1929, he was the first & Longest serving Chief Minister of the British Virgin Islands. .

Since his death in 1995, a public holiday has been declared annually on the first Monday in the month of March in memory of his birthday.
Without his significant contributions to the BVI community and education, the Community College who was named in his honor, would have not existed.

We pay tribute to this great BVI hero! 🙌🏽🇻🇬
For those interested in attending the Governments 24th Annual Memorial celebration and 19th Wreath Laying Ceremony, it begins at 9am today at the Cappoons Bay Burial Grounds.
Persons are encouraged to wear BVI Territorial wear.

RAA 1-2-3 for Voters

41 CANDIDATES - 16 running At Large and 25 in Districts, 2 Independents, 10 incumbents, 4 parties, new faces and known faces - can present a challenge in knowing how best to vote on February 25th to bring about dynamic change. Major pieces of legislation, including Consumer Protection and Freedom of Information, still gather dust, toxic smoke poisons our children, and monies for long-overdue projects - including schools - must now come from monitored loans. We will be rebuilding trust and repaying debts well into the future.

RAA 1-2-3 Let's use our votes to send a message that the BVI will now do things differently. If we, as voters, sincerely want a government that can start fresh and "do good to do better", let's consider taking these steps:

1. ENVISION YOUR BVI
Decide what you want your BVI to stand for.
Envision what you want your BVI to look like.
Identify the individual candidates that share your values.

2. REACH OUT - Ask candidates specific questions, such as:
-How exactly will we pay for projects and improvements when money is so tight?
-How exactly will we repay the millions we must borrow for Recovery & Development?
-How exactly will we combat Climate Change?

For more suggestions on questions to ask, or to find contact information for candidates, find Reform Action Alliance on Facebook.

3. VOTE - People, Not Party It's time to stand up and look beyond party politics if we are to put people in office who will do the same. Let's elect competent people who have the courage and common sense to form coalitions, put partnering before politics, and govern as a team of good stewards. Let's vote for people who share our values.

RAA 1-2-3 for your election and your vote

1. Decide what you want the BVI’s future to look like.

2. Decide who can deliver this future.

3. Ask questions and vote with your conscience.

Your vote matters for your future, your children’s future and the Territory’s future.

Think - Decide - Vote

*The RAA is a civic organization that aims to inspire all BVI residents to actively participate in the vision, actions and accountability of the government.
