Dinnertime, or actually ‘any meal time’ in Mazfal, is the same procedure. We gather in the blue smoked kitchen around a small stove and open fire in the middle of the room on the floor. I sit on a small goatskin carpet on the floor with a metal plate with a huge pile of rice in front of me. Next to it I get a small bowl with sort of lentil soup to mix with the rice. In fact this is the no. 1 Nepalese dish: dal bhat!
