Strengthening cooperation through institutional exchange
From 20–23 April 2026, IOM Kosovo supported a study visit of representatives from Kosovo institutions to northern Greece, including Thessaloniki, to exchange operational experiences on migration management, asylum systems and reception arrangements.
The delegation engaged with Greek counterparts and visited reception and identification centres, asylum offices, accommodation facilities, police authorities and integration support centres, fostering dialogue on coordination, practices and lessons learned.
IOM Kosovo thanks IOM Greece for facilitating the visit and the exchanges with national and local stakeholders.

A successful study visit was conducted to strengthen institutional capacity for evidence‑based migration governance. Delegates from institutions in Kosovo, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Police Risk Analysis Unit, and the Agency of Statistics, took part in an intensive programme hosted by IOM Netherlands.
Through sessions with the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND), the Ministry of Asylum and Migration, and the European Migration Network, participants gained hands‑on insights into CIRAM risk analysis, intelligence‑led investigations, OSINT techniques, migration data platforms, and business intelligence tools.
The visit contributed to strengthened analytical capacities, enhanced inter‑institutional cooperation, and more effective use of data across the migration governance chain.
