ANTI SMOKING OPERATIONS. The Bacolod Anti-Smoking Task Force-Action Team conducted operations along the two major public markets of Bacolod City, the Burgos Market and Libertad Public Markets including their neighboring establishments and schools like, the UNO-R. We conducted an inspection and operation in our Bacolod Public Plaza and Downtown Area in the midst of Masskara Festival. The operations were conducted to dessiminate and educate the public of the regulation of the City on smoking and to inform them that our Beloved Mayor Albee Benitez is in full support of our goal to attain a Smoke Free City.

Medical Professional groups join the City’s observance of World No To***co Day

Various medical groups had joined the City Government and the Bacolod Anti-Smoking Task Force led by Mayor Albee Benitez & Councilor Simple Distrito in the celebration of World No To***co Day at the NGC Lobby.

The event started with a motorcade and then a Unified Signing of the Philippine College of Chest Physicians (PCCP) Position Statement on Electronic Ci******es and Smoking. Joining PCCP are the Philippine Medical Society, Philippine Pediatric Society, Negros Occidental Medical Society, and the City Health Office of Bacolod.

Atty. Caesar Z. Distrito was the guest speaker, and the author of CO 641 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Bacolod Anti-Smoking Ordinance series of 2013), and CO No. 09-17-817 or the E-Ci******es Regulation Ordinance.

“It is both my personal and community advocacy to campaign against smoking. My father, the late Ronnie Distrito, and my grandfather, Mariano Distrito, both died due to the ill effects of smoking. Effects of Secondary Smoking is even much dangerous; thus, people should be educated and at the same time, be disciplined from smoking ci******es and vaping.” Former Councilor Caesar Distrito said.
