THE GROWING CHALLENGE OF ENFORCING VEHICLE STANDARDS IN NIGERIA.

Road Traffic Safety cannot survive without strong institutions to enforce it. Across Nigeria, growing resistance to enforcement and legal uncertainties are weakening the authority of agencies responsible for keeping our roads safe.

When institutions like the Vehicle Inspection Offices are undermined, unroadworthy vehicles and poorly trained drivers inevitably increase the risks on our roads.

If Nigeria is serious about reducing road crashes and saving lives, strengthening road traffic enforcement must remain a national priority.
