“मध्यपश्चिम विश्वविद्यालयका उपकुलपतिद्वारा उडिसामा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय सम्मेलनको समुद्घाटन”

भारतको उडिसा राज्यस्थित भुवनेश्वरमा मिति २०८२ फाल्गुन २८ गते देखि सञ्चालित ‘ग्रासरूट एण्ड फ्रुगल इनोभेसन इन इमर्जिङ इकोनोमीज’ शीर्षकको अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय सम्मेलन भव्य रूपमा समुद्घाटन भएको छ । भारतको बिरला ग्लोबल युनिभर्सिटी र नेपालको मध्यपश्चिम विश्वविद्यालय, सुर्खेतको सहकार्यमा आयोजित तीनदिने यस सम्मेलनको उद्घाटन प्रमुख अतिथि मध्यपश्चिम विश्वविद्यालयका उपकुलपति प्रा. डा. ध्रुब कुमार गौतमज्यूले पानसमा बत्ती बालेर गर्नुभएको हो।

उद्घाटन सत्रमा सम्मेलनका अध्यक्ष प्रा. डा. सुवेन्दु कुमार प्रतिहारि ले स्वागत मन्तव्य व्यक्त गर्दै सम्मेलनको उद्देश्य र विषयवस्तु प्रस्तुत गर्नुभएको थियो। उहाँले विकासशील अर्थतन्त्रहरूमा तल्लो तहबाट उत्पन्न हुने नवप्रवर्तन र सस्तो तथा व्यवहारिक नवप्रवर्तनको महत्वबारे प्रकाश पार्दै अनुसन्धान, उद्यमशीलता र स्थानीय ज्ञानको समन्वय आवश्यक रहेको बताउनुभयो।

कार्यक्रममा सिरक्युज युनिभर्सिटी (युएसए) अन्तर्गत ‘अर्ल भी. स्नेडर इनोभेसन म्यानेजमेन्ट सेन्टर’ का निर्देशक प्रो. एस. पी. राज ले सम्बोधन गर्दै विश्वव्यापी नवप्रवर्तनको वर्तमान प्रवृत्ति तथा विश्वविद्यालय–उद्योग सहकार्यको महत्वबारे चर्चा गर्नुभयो।

त्यस्तै स्क्याननेक्सट साइन्टिफिक टेक्नोलोजिज प्राइभेट लिमिटेडका संस्थापक तथा प्रमुख कार्यकारी अधिकृत श्री राजत वर्धन ले नवप्रवर्तन र उद्यमशीलताको क्षेत्रका अनुभवहरू साझा गर्नुभएको थियो।

उद्घाटन सत्रको प्रमुख आकर्षणका रूपमा आईआईएम अहेमदावादका प्रा. डा. आनन्द कुमार जैसवालले मुख्य वक्तव्य प्रस्तुत गर्नुभयो। उहाँले उदीयमान अर्थतन्त्रहरूमा स्थानीय स्रोत र ज्ञानमा आधारित नवप्रवर्तनले दिगो विकासमा महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका खेल्ने धारणा व्यक्त गर्नुभयो।

कार्यक्रममा प्रमुख अतिथिका रूपमा सहभागी हुनुभएका मध्यपश्चिम विश्वविद्यालयका उपकुलपति प्रा. डा. ध्रुव कुमार गौतमज्यूले आफ्नो मन्तव्यमा नेपाल र भारतबीचको शैक्षिक तथा अनुसन्धान सहकार्यलाई अझ सुदृढ बनाउन यस्ता अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय सम्मेलनहरू अत्यन्त महत्वपूर्ण हुने बताउनुभयो। उहाँले विशेष गरी ग्रासरुट नवप्रवर्तन, स्थानीय ज्ञान र उद्यमशीलता विकास का क्षेत्रमा संयुक्त अनुसन्धान र सहकार्य विस्तार गर्नुपर्ने आवश्यकता औँल्याउनुभयो।

त्यसैगरी बिरला ग्लोबल युनिभर्सिटीका उपकुलपति प्रा. डा. कुलभूषण बलूनी ले सम्मेलनले नवप्रवर्तन, उद्यमशीलता र अनुसन्धानका क्षेत्रमा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय सहकार्यलाई बलियो बनाउने विश्वास व्यक्त गर्नुभयो।

उद्घाटन सत्रकै क्रममा मध्यपश्चिम विश्वविद्यालय, नेपाल र बिरला ग्लोबल युनिभर्सिटी, भारत बीच शैक्षिक तथा अनुसन्धान सहकार्य विस्तार गर्ने उद्देश्यले आपसी सम्झौतापत्रमा हस्ताक्षर समेत गरिएको थियो। साथै सम्मेलन कार्यवृत्त सार्वजनिक गरिनुका साथै विशिष्ट व्यक्तित्वहरूलाई सम्मान गरिएको थियो।

उक्त कार्यक्रम अन्तर्गत सहभागीहरूले विभिन्न अनुभव आदान–प्रदान सत्र, नवप्रवर्तनसम्बन्धी प्रस्तुति तथा छलफल कार्यक्रमहरूमा सहभागिता जनाएका थिए। सम्मेलनमा नेपाल, भारत लगायत विभिन्न देशका प्राध्यापक, अनुसन्धानकर्ता, उद्यमी तथा विद्यार्थीहरूको उल्लेख्य सहभागिता रहेको थियो ।

उक्त अवसरमा मध्यपश्चिम विश्वविद्यालयका रजिष्ट्रार प्रा. डा. शोभाखर कँडेलज्यू, अन्तरराष्ट्रीय सम्बन्ध निर्देशालयका कार्यकारी निर्देशक डा. यदु प्रसाद ज्ञवाली, योजना विकास तथा अनुगमन निर्देशनालयका कार्यकारी निर्देशक डा. विष्णु कुमार खड्का, उपकुलपति कार्यालयका सचिवालय प्रमुख एवम् व्यवस्थापन केन्द्रीय विभागका विभागीय प्रमुख उपप्राध्यापक खेमराज रावतले नवप्रवर्तन र आइडिया पिचिङ सेसनको मूल्यांकन गर्ने जिम्मेवारीको रूपमा भूमिका निर्वाह गरेका थिए ।

मध्यपश्चिम विश्वविद्यालयका तर्फबाट कार्यपत्र प्रस्तोताको रूपमा उपप्राध्यापकहरू, बेद प्रकाश ढकाल, गिताराम ढकाल, आशिष बराल, हरेन्द्र केसी, रमेश प्रसाद गौतम र स्ववियु अध्यक्ष विवेक खड्का लगायतको सहभागिता रहेको थियो ।

पहिलो दिनको साँझ मध्यपश्चिम विश्वविद्यालयको तर्फबाट देउडा सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुतीकरण रहेको थियो र बिरला ग्लोबल युनिभर्सिटी, उडिसा भारतको तर्फबाट स्थानीय संस्कृति र शास्त्रीय नृत्य प्रस्तुतीकरण गरिएको थियो ।

तीन दिनसम्म सञ्चालन हुने यस सम्मेलनमा नवप्रवर्तन, उद्यमशीलता, दिगो विकास तथा उदीयमान अर्थतन्त्रमा स्थानीय प्रविधिको प्रयोग जस्ता विषयहरूमा विभिन्न शैक्षिक सत्र, कार्यपत्र प्रस्तुति र छलफल कार्यक्रमहरू हुनेछन्। साथै मध्यपश्चिम विश्वविद्यालय र बिरला ग्लोबल युनिभर्सिटी, उडिसा भारत को संयुक्त आयोजनामा २०२६ अप्रिल २४–२६ मा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय सम्मेलन सुर्खेतमा आयोजना हुनेछ।

“Vice-Chancellor of Mid-West University Inaugurates International Conference in Odisha”

An international conference titled “Grassroots and Frugal Innovation in Emerging Economies” was grandly inaugurated in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India, starting from March 12, 2026. The three-day conference is jointly organized by Birla Global University, India, and Mid-West University, Surkhet, Nepal.
The conference was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Dhruba Kumar Gautam of Mid-West University, by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

During the inaugural session, the conference chair Prof. Dr. Subhendu Kumar Pratihari delivered the welcome address and presented the objectives and themes of the conference. He highlighted the importance of grassroots innovation emerging from local communities and frugal innovation that emphasizes cost-effective and practical solutions in developing economies. He emphasized the need for the integration of research, entrepreneurship, and local knowledge.

On the occasion, Prof. S. P. Raj, Director of the Earl V. Snyder Innovation Management Center under Syracuse University (USA), addressed the gathering and discussed current global trends in innovation and the importance of university–industry collaboration.

Similarly, Mr. Rajat Vardhan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ScaNxt Scientific Technologies Pvt. Ltd., shared his experiences in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship.
The keynote address of the inaugural session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Anand Kumar Jaiswal of IIM Ahmedabad, who emphasized that innovation based on local resources and indigenous knowledge plays a significant role in achieving sustainable development in emerging economies.

In his remarks as the Chief Guest, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Dhruba Kumar Gautam of Mid-West University stated that international conferences like this are extremely important for strengthening academic and research collaboration between Nepal and India. He particularly highlighted the need to expand joint research and collaboration in areas such as grassroots innovation, local knowledge, and entrepreneurship development.
Similarly, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kulbhushan Balooni of Birla Global University expressed confidence that the conference would further strengthen international collaboration in innovation, entrepreneurship, and research.

During the inaugural session, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between Mid-West University, Nepal, and Birla Global University, India, with the objective of expanding academic and research collaboration. The conference proceedings were also released, and distinguished personalities were honored during the program.

Participants also took part in various experience-sharing sessions, presentations on innovation, and discussion programs. The conference witnessed significant participation from professors, researchers, entrepreneurs, and students from Nepal, India, and other countries.

On this occasion, Registrar Prof. Dr. Shobhakhar Kandel of Mid-West University, Executive Director of the International Relations Directorate Dr. Yadu Prasad Gyawali, Executive Director of the Planning, Development and Monitoring Directorate Dr. Bishnu Kumar Khadka, and Asst. Prof. Khemraj Rawat, Head of the Central Department of Management and Secretariat Chief of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, served as evaluators for the innovation and idea pitching sessions.

From Mid-West University, paper presenters included Asst. Prof. Bed Prakash Dhakal, Asst. Prof. Gitaram Dhakal, Asst. Prof. Ashish Baral, Asst. Prof. Harendra KC, Asst. Prof. Ramesh Prasad Gautam, and Free Students’ Union President Bibek Khadka, among others.

On the evening of the first day, a ‘Deuda’ cultural performance was presented on behalf of Mid-West University, while Birla Global University, Odisha, India, presented local cultural and classical dance performances.

The three-day conference will feature various academic sessions, paper presentations, and discussions on topics such as innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainable development, and the use of local technologies in emerging economies.
