Spotlight: Andrea Bibian🎉
Andrea Bibian was sworn in as a Trustee of Joliet Township Government in May 2025. She brings a strong background in community advocacy, with a focus on youth engagement, bilingual accessibility, and connecting residents to public resources. Born and raised in Joliet she is proud to say that her first language is Spanish and is incredibly grateful that her parents raised her that way because speaking her native language has opened many doors for her.
Andrea currently works as the Immigration Program Coordinator at Warehouse Workers for Justice, where she helps working families and communities members access ways in which they could possibly find a pathway for an immigrant relief with legal attorneys . She just completed her fellowship and will become an accredited representative by the department of justice to practice immigration law, complete applications and do legal representation in immigration court.
She has also been involved in political organizing since she was 20 and regularly volunteers at community events. She is also a precinct committee person.
She also holds a certificate as a Public Notary where she helps families get access to legal forms and also has her international certification as an interpreter.
As a bilingual speaker, she is committed to improving outreach to Spanish-speaking residents. Andrea is also passionate about creating more opportunities for local youth and families, especially during the summer months, through programs, festivals, and community events.
Her true passion is being involved in the community and being able to help others. In her free time she enjoys working out, taking time to herself, go to concerts, and most importantly spend time with her family members and friends. She believes in taking time for yourself is really important in order to keep the hard work going.
