GREAT WOMEN SUPPORT

See how women greeted the New Special Adviser to His Excellency, Governor of Niger State, Rt. Hon. Umar Mohammed Bago on Women & Affirmative Action, after the inauguration today.

A lot of women from different ethnic groups and religions were at the venue to identify with the New SA to the Governor. This is a good sign for progress in championing the course of women in Niger State and bringing women's contribution to the table for a better Niger State.

WOMEN GROUPS IN NIGER STATE HOLDS INTERFAITH PRAYER SESSION FOR BAGO

Women in Niger State from different groups, converged on Justice Idris Legbo International Conference Centre to intercede for the All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Mohammed Umar Bago to be victorious at the forthcoming governorship and state assembly polls.

The interfaith prayer session was organized by Zarah & Arthur Foundation.

The founder of Zarah & Arthur Foundation, Hajiya Zarah Abdullahi in her remarks, explained that the purpose of the gathering was to pray for the APC gubernatorial candidate, Umar Bago to be successful in the forthcoming elections.

Hajiya Abdullahi said Bago when elected, will carry women along in his administration.

She expressed optimism that the Almighty God will answer their prayers and urged all to ensure they exercise their civic rights on Saturday by voting for Bago.

Wife of the gubernatorial candidate, Hajiya Fatima Umar Bago represented by Hajiya Gogo Larai Mohammed, while appreciating the women for coming out in their numbers, described women as backbone of every successful society.

She implored the women not to relent in their prayers and ensure that they educate their family members and friends on the need to see Bago as the perfect choice that will carry the women along if elected into office.

In her remarks, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor of Niger State, Mary Noel-Berje who was also the chief host, said the event is a step in the right direction as prayer is a binding force.

She called on women to sustain their prayers for peace in the state in particular and country in general.

The CPS charged women to shun tribalism and religious bigotry for the betterment of the society.

She was confident that God will choose a leader after His heart that will bring about the desire development in the state.

In their separate goodwill messages, Malama Balikisu Abdullahi and Mrs Esther Ishaku prayed for victory at the polls as well as peace, love and unity among Nigerlites in particular and Nigerians at large.

The special prayer session was led by Mallama Hauwa Yahaya and Deaconess Mary Ishaku.

The event also featured sensitization of women on how to cast valid ballots, Quranic recitation by Ambassador Jummai Ibrahim.
