Happy Valentine's Day friends! Just wanted to check in and let you know Mama Squirrel ATL is doing well. When I started setting a table for her, it was when the pandemic had just started (the story is somewhere in previous posts), but I used only what I could find around the house for her table. I think this is the only video where I actually bought something to put in the background instead of making it because we are able to leave the house now.
She has a running buddy who we've named "Notch" because he's missing a notch out of his ear - his pic is in the comments. I hope everyone has a wonderful week! Take care!
PS - I've created a youtube channel ("Mama Squirrel ATL") that has some of her videos on it if you ever just want to watch her on a loop - she always improves my outlook and makes me smile.

Hello friends! I decided to set the table for Mama Squirrel tonight to give her a change of scenery. She is photobombed by a chipmunk twice near the end. Tonight she had pumpkin seeds, apple (gala), walnuts and peanuts. I hope everyone is doing well - take care!
Video and picture of her signature Mama-Parts-Flash in the comments.

Hi everyone! Mama Squirrel was waiting for me when I went outside this afternoon to serve her dinner (first pic), but I decided to set the table for her where she used to eat to see if she was, perhaps, well, in a family way...There is a video in the comments of her enjoying a fresh organic strawberry, then a local roasted pecan. Just wanted everyone to know she still seems happy and healthy - don't know about her family situation, but will keep providing her fresh fruits, nuts, and seeds in a protected environment (and maybe some cheese for calcium just to be safe)💚
Happy July 4th! Two videos are combined to show 1) Mama Squirrel's approach and appreciation of the flowers and flag and 2) paw licking after eating blueberry pieces which is adorable. She starts with her favorite pumpkin seed appetizer, then has a pecan, and the video finishes with her blueberry eating. Look out for the little critters tonight - I feel like the fireworks freak them out, so we'll be sending out love and positive energy to all of the animals and hoping they (and our human friends) are safe.
It has been stormy for the past several days around dinner time in Atlanta, so it would be HELPFUL if Mama Squirrel would chow down a bit less leisurely, but the clouds rolling in don't seem to bother her. I think it's cute when she leans on the table like she did tonight (no elbows, just paws). Nothing noteworthy with this meal...just a squirrel enjoying fresh flowers, an uncut piece of stained glass, and a book about Friends in the backyard before a storm😍.
Mama Squirrel is celebrating Love is Love tonight and getting her rainbow vibe on (with a margarita)! She enjoyed a pumpkin seed, followed by a local blueberry, then an organic green grape. She briefly put her sweet little paws on the table, then finished her meal with a fresh pecan. I'll post a pic in comments of her looking like she is pleased about something and seems to have a twinkle in her eye. Y'all stay safe!
Well I learned two valuable lessons with this meal set-up. One, she will NOT eat with the cardinal salt shaker on the table. I strung three short videos together that basically show her grab-and-dashing - she wanted to eat, but not at the table with the cardinal. She takes her food to the edge of the piece of wood, then eats it. Even AFTER I moved the cardinal, she still was like "Nope" - finally, she chills and decides to eat at the table. The second valuable lesson was that she LOVES bananas! The end of this video shows her having a grape, then a banana - the banana was a big hit (but not the cardinal friend). Happy almost Friday!
Mama Squirrel was not a fan of the green apples – after tossing them on the ground, she checks out the stained glass piece behind her briefly, then goes back to eating. Something interests her again in the stained glass piece, so she seems to push it to see if it’s sturdy, apparently is okay with it’s structural integrity, so she goes back to eating a pecan. There were a pair of goldfinches in the backyard while Mama Squirrel was eating, so I moved the camera to capture both of them (in comments), but the focus was slow – still can see them both though. The birds left her alone tonight which made both of us happy and more relaxed🙌🏼❤️
Thanks to April Murphy's gift of her heartwarming and feel-good art (it makes me feel good and it's literally titled "Feel Good Art") Mama Squirrel had a nice change of scenery with her dinner. She takes in the art more than usual tonight (separate video in comments) and seemed to have a one-tracked mind focusing on grapes. She did get buzzed by a bird, but held her ground (and her pumpkin seed) - the bird didn't come low enough to be in the frame or I would have included it because this bird (male bluebird) is very territorial and has run her off before. All is good here - I hope every has a wonderful evening!
Tonight Mama Squirrel's set up was low-key. She had kiwi, peach, strawberry, grape and Brazil nuts. I strung two videos together because she kept hearing something and acting like a nosey neighbor (lookie loo) - the first time she does it, she's eating a Brazil nut - she is startled, then looks at me like "well, if you're not scared, I'm not scared - cool" and goes back to eating. The second time, she's eating a peach, then a grape and she does a weird leg movement while she's investigating, then goes back to her grape. She's a funny little critter and I love her.
Tonight Mama Squirrel had mostly tropical bar food (not really, just grapes, pear, blueberries) and nuts. I offered her chickpeas (how the video starts) and she didn't seem to be a fan, but in the comments there is a pic of her leaving with one, so maybe she changed her mind. She REALLY enjoyed her blueberries tonight (thanks Sonha!). Also in the video, I feel like she was studying her liquor options and mentally running through what might taste best with a blueberry while she ate the blueberry. She finishes with a pumpkin seed - I do not understand how she stretches out eating a single seed for so long - she eats them like I have seen some people eat ribs. There's a pic of her in the comments reading the sign, so I think she was cool with the Tiki Bar concept.
