It is that time of the year again. School Board election time. Why you ask what does this have to do with reforming Newberry Township of Newberry, York County, Pennsylvania ? Making sure our kids are educated properly leads to them having more successful lives hopefully here in Newberry Township. In order form. That to happen we need to voice our options to ensure the West Shore School District is giving our students a top quality education to entice people to want to stay here and those moving to the area what t to live here.
We have a current school board member Mr. Trone that is pretty unprofessional by swearing in his post below. Is this the type of person we what leading our schools? I hope not. We know he is not in the Newberry area but we need to inform our friends and family that could vote for him to think about their vote.

Is Dave Kirkpatrick Misleading Voters with His page?
Dave Kirkpatrick is currently serving as a Newberry Township Supervisor and is now running for re-election. But there’s a serious question voters deserve to ask:
Is he blurring the line between official duties and campaign activity?
Kirkpatrick’s page is titled “David Kirkpatrick – Newberry Township Supervisor.” That name suggests it’s an official government page — yet the content clearly promotes his re-election campaign.
This raises major concerns:
• If this is an official township page, then using it to campaign is not only unethical — it may also violate Pennsylvania rules that prohibit using public resources or platforms for political purposes.
• If it’s actually a campaign page, then why is it titled in a way that makes it sound like an official government account? That kind of framing can be misleading to voters and creates the appearance of using a government role to gain an unfair advantage.
In Pennsylvania, public officials are expected to keep a clear separation between their official responsibilities and their campaign efforts. Government-affiliated pages are not to be used for political promotion — doing so erodes public trust and can even cross into legal gray areas.
Can we really trust someone who is currently in office and appears willing to blur the lines like this for personal political gain?
At a time when transparency and ethics matter more than ever, Dave Kirkpatrick owes voters clarity:
• Is this a campaign page or a government page?
• Is he campaigning within the rules — or trying to quietly bend them?
The people of Newberry Township deserve answers — and they deserve ethical, transparent leadership.
On May 20th Vote for Dave Kirkpatrick
Residents of Newberry Township are my concern.
I will continue to look for other sources of revenue.
Continue to look at and improve our Emergency Services.
Continue to look at ways to promote Newberry Township for both business and families alike.
Better Planning for development.
These are only some of my ideas, if elected I hope to hear some of yours.
Please vote for Dave Kirkpatrick on May 20th.
And THANK YOU for your support

Ensuring Informed Voting for the West Shore School District School Board Race
At Newberry Township Citizenship for Reform, we stand firmly committed to the belief that our local schools play a critical role in shaping our community's future. We understand that well-run schools are the cornerstone of a thriving society, and we believe that every citizen deserves access to accurate and unbiased information before they cast their vote. With the upcoming election on November 7th, we feel it is our duty to ensure that the voters in the West Shore School District are well-informed and not misled by misinformation or misconceptions.
We feel it is vital to provide voters in the West Shore School District with accurate information and dispel any misconceptions surrounding the Friends of West Shore School District Political Action Committee (PAC). This PAC, registered with York County, has claimed to be bipartisan, but we believe it's important to present the facts.
Bi-Partisanship or a Different Agenda?
The Friends of West Shore School District PAC states that it is bipartisan, yet the affiliations of many of the candidates they support tell a different story. Most of their endorsed candidates are either cross-filed for both parties or are on the Democratic ticket. A few have switched parties for this election due to the historically conservative voting patterns in the area (Kaparanos). Moreover, some registered Republicans vote consistently with the current school board (Moyer), which has been leaning towards a liberal stance on issues. This raises questions about the authenticity of their bipartisan claims.
Financial Allegiances
The financial contributions received by this PAC further raise questions about its bipartisan nature. It has accepted donations from entities like the Northern York Democratic Club ($500), the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA)($2000 +mailers), and a PAC known as The Six PAC ($3000). Notably, there are no donations from conservative groups at the time of this post. This financial information casts doubt on the PAC's bipartisan claims.
ActBlue and Partisanship
Furthermore, the PAC is collecting funds through ActBlue, a well-known Democratic fundraising tool. ActBlue explicitly states its alignment with the Democratic Party on its website, leaving room for skepticism regarding the Friends of West Shore School District PAC's bipartisanship claims(https://secure.actblue.com/about).
Intriguing Connections
It's worth noting that The Six PAC (https://www.thesixpac.com/about), which has supported this local school board race, is a progressive Democratic PAC from California. This affiliation raises questions about whether they would support genuinely bipartisan candidates. This, in turn, prompts us to question why the Friends of West Shore School District PAC would accept money from such an entity and others if they were truly bipartisan.
Partisan Promotion
PSEA has financially supported Friends of West Shore School District candidates, actively urging Democrats to vote for them through targeted mailers. This partisan promotion did not extend to Republicans within the West Shore School District, undermining claims of bipartisanship. Additionally, there have been reports that teachers were encouraged through various means to support these candidates due to their perceived alignment with the interests of educators and students and that other candidates are not good for students and BAD for teachers.
Leadership's Affiliations
***Edit***
The wording of our original post appears to not be accurate in that The Friends of West Shore School District PAC is not run by Danielle Gross, but she is an admin for their page. We are sorry for this inaccuracy and stand corrected. This does raise another question. Who really runs this PAC?

As we approach the upcoming election on November 7th, it is vital to provide voters in the West Shore School District with accurate information and dispel any misconceptions surrounding the Friends of West Shore School District Political Action Committee (PAC). This PAC, registered with York County, has claimed to be bipartisan, but we believe it's important to present the facts.
Informed Decision-Making
In light of these facts, we encourage voters to make an informed choice when they head to the polls on November 7th. The perception created by the Friends of West Shore School District PAC may not align with reality. It is crucial to remember that the candidates receiving support from this group bear responsibility for their supporters' affiliations and their underlying agenda. It is apparent that the slate backed by this PAC is not truly bipartisan and has a distinct agenda. We urge you to exercise your right to vote with full awareness of these dynamics when selecting West Shore School District School Board Members.
Please help us share this information to inform voters so they can make an educated choice tomorrow.
