Silver X to Fellow Musicians: “ Stop wasting money Writing Peace Songs, Focus on Survival!”

South Sudanese music legend Silver X has a message for his fellow artists stop wasting time, money, and studio energy recording peace songs!

In a brutally honest and slightly hilarious statement, Silver X reminded musicians that even Kembe, the OG of peace and reconciliation music, is still living in a rokuba fi mangat a humble hut. If peace songs were the key to success, Kembe would be chilling in a mansion by now!

“We have sung peace in every style, Afrobeat peace, reggae peace, gospel peace, even acapella peace, but here we are. Meanwhile, some artists are dropping ‘begging songs’ and suddenly driving V8s. Priorities, my people!” he said.

Silver X urged musicians to switch gears and start making music that actually puts food on the table. “The country will fix itself when the time is right. God is not blind,” he added.

Juba TV also chipped in, joking that instead of releasing peace songs, musicians should try a “begging anthem” because that’s where the real breakthrough is happening.
