Our Healthy Babies Home Visiting Program is proud to be at the 2026 Parents as Teachers International Conference in Portland, Oregon!

This year’s theme, NAVIGATE, beautifully reflects the work we do every day, walking alongside families as they navigate the wonderful, complex, and rewarding journey of parenthood.

We’re excited to learn, connect, share ideas, and bring new knowledge back to the families and babies we serve. Together, we’re strengthening families, building connections, and helping every baby get a healthy start.

Join us for a fun evening benefiting Child Advocates!

Bring your friends and family and enjoy delicious tacos by Rosie’s, ice cream and popsicles, drinks, snacks, and live music from Big Whoop.

Bring a picnic blanket, let the kids play, and spend the evening enjoying good food, great music, and time together.

Most importantly, your support helps Child Advocates continue making a difference in the lives of children in our community. All proceeds from the event will go toward supporting our work.

It’s opening day of the Nevada County Fair!

If you’re at the fair today, stop by the Soroptimist booth for a delicious teriyaki bowl and say hello to our Executive Director, Nicole McNeely. Nicole is volunteering today and supporting Soroptimist International of Grass Valley.

Come enjoy the fair, grab a teriyaki bowl, and support a great local organization!

July was all about Emergency Preparedness and fire safety! 🔥 🚒

Families learned from the Nevada County Office of Emergency Services about preparing for emergencies and signing up for the Nevada County Emergency Alert System.

The little ones enjoyed story time, sensory bins, and fun activities while families connected and learned together.

☀️💦 Healthy Babies kicked off summer with a fun Swim Day Social at Gold Country YMCA Memorial Park Pool!

As families enjoyed a day of swimming, they also learned important water safety tips to help keep children safe this summer. With pool days, lake trips, and beach outings in full swing, it's essential to never leave children unattended near water and always designate a distraction free Water Watcher when spending time with a group.

Thanks to Healthy Babies, every family went home with a free life vest and enjoyed free swim time while building confidence and learning lifesaving safety habits.
