The MOC and MOCA Joint Supreme Project for 2023 - 2024 seeks to raise awareness for soldier su***de. It is estimated that 22 veterans a day commit su***de. Military soldiers are approximately 72% more likely to take their own life than civilians. We can reduce this number through research, education, and intervention. NJ MOCA is doing its part by establishing Serenity Gardens throughout the state. MOCA Pup Tent 15 will be putting a garden in at American Legion Post 170 in Rochelle Park, NJ. The garden will be a place of quiet reflection. A Little Free Library will house materials on su***de prevention. There will be resources for those in crisis. It will also serve as a memorial for those that have lost the battle. MOCA Pup Tent 15 is looking for individuals or groups to help establish this space this June.
