Today we feel the weight of the loss of one of our own, Laquan McDonald, who suffered from 16 fatal shots to the body. The loss of his life and the sentencing that followed was a miscarriage of justice, and we will continue to fight for criminal justice reform.

🍽️ Illinois’ Restaurant Meals Program is growing, with 50 participating restaurants across 16 counties and opportunities for restaurants statewide to join.

The program allows eligible SNAP households to purchase prepared meals at participating restaurants using their Illinois Link card.

Households qualify when all members meet at least one of these criteria:

• Are age 60 or older
• Have a disability
• Are spouses of eligible elderly or disabled customers
• Are experiencing homelessness
