We are thrilled to announce that we have hired a new Executive Director to lead Public Allies Pittsburgh. Dr. Jamie Williams comes to us with 20 years of experience as a practitioner-researcher and educator. They have dedicated their career to creating social change and enhancing equitable access to opportunities and resources for all communities to thrive, and have done so in leadership at multiple AmeriCorps programs. Most recently, Jamie served as Vice President of Strategy and Operations at Wishful Doing.

Jamie is a first-generation college graduate who earned a BS in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Education from Frostburg State University, and a Doctorate in Public Administration from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

We are grateful that Jamie has chosen to bring their vast knowledge, experience, and passion to Public Allies, and have no doubt that they will greatly contribute to our impact and mission.

As we wrap up our week of reflecting on the incredible journey of the 2025–2026 cohort, we're excited to highlight the culmanation of the journey: Graduation.

Surrounded by friends, family, partners, and our broader community, we celebrated an extraordinary cohort and all they have accomplished. The evening was filled with meaningful conversations, shared laughter, delicious food, and well-deserved recognition of each graduate's hard work and dedication.

To everyone who joined us in celebrating this milestone, thank you for making the night special. Congratulations to the Class of 2025–2026! We can't wait to see all that you'll accomplish next!

As a part of our final week of service with the Allies, we spent a day together at the West End Overlook for a day of reflection and togetherness with a backdrop of the city that the Allies spent the year connecting to and investing in. The day was spent making a photo collage of memories from throughout the year, a reflective yoga session, playing games, and writing letters to future allies.

It was a beautiful day to celebrate the relationships, experiences, and impact that defined the year. 🌇🙌❤

Last week, as part of the Allies' final week of service, they presented their Presentations of Learning; a powerful culmination of the growth, dedication, and passion they brought to their apprenticeship, their partner organizations, and the Pittsburgh community.

It was an inspiring day filled with thoughtful reflection, meaningful stories, and a celebration of each Ally's accomplishments throughout the year. Hearing their unique experiences, lessons learned, and personal growth was a reminder of the incredible impact they've made along the way.

We couldn't be prouder of the Public Allies Pittsburgh Class of 2025–2026! 🎉❤️

On Juneteenth, Public Allies Pittsburgh came together for a day rooted in service, reflection, and community. Alongside our Alumni Breakfast, our Allies partnered with Stop the Violence Pittsburgh to help set up the Downtown Juneteenth festivities, supporting a celebration of freedom, culture, and community.

To close out the day, we gathered for a screening of The Black Power Mixtape 1967–1975, creating space to reflect on the history, resilience, and leadership of the Black freedom movement. We are grateful to everyone who helped make this day meaningful and to our partners for continuing to build stronger communities together.
