I am glad we took this picture first thing in the morning because yesterday, Mayor Davies and the Village Board spent the better part of the day at Village Hall for our annual Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) Workshop starting at 8:30 AM - working until almost 3 PM! 📊📊
This meeting is one of the most important of the year. It’s where we ‘roll up our sleeves’ to analyze our budget, review the mid-year status of our Extended Term Financial Plan (ETFP), we are continuing to refine the language around our Best Future Funds plan, the framework that will help guide how future revenues can strengthen Grayslake’s long-term financial health, as well as select the capital projects that will be executed in FY26-27.
We discussed a wide range of priorities that were all extremely important; from critical infrastructure upgrades for proper drainage of storm water 🏗️ and public safety enhancements 👮♀️, to the hopeful ex*****on of the long-awaited Manor storm sewer drainage improvement 🌧️, and we also received many other updates on projects already underway.
A huge thank you to our incredible Village staff, who work tirelessly to prepare the detailed presentations and data that guided all our discussions. They’re the real deal! They continuously gather and analyze information that assists us in keeping Grayslake in such strong financial shape year after year after year. Kudos to our team. 🙌
I’m so proud to serve alongside a Mayor and Village Board so deeply committed to maintaining Grayslake’s tradition of a balanced budget, debt-free operations, and long-term financial strength; ensuring we can meet today’s needs while securing tomorrow’s opportunities. Because there are so many to be had here. We sure are a lucky little town.
As always, my virtual (and real) door is open to talk all things Village. Please reach out anytime, I’m always around town!
