Happy New Year!!! In the first full week back, K is starting to keep a solid steady beat, 1st is working on rhythm and Carnival of the animals. 2nd is also working on rhythm and composition, 3rd is studying instruments of the orchestra, 4th is reviewing rhythm as we get ready to start ukeleles and 5th is reviewing and composing rhythm to get ready for their garage band composition project. Lots of fun learning going on! Here are a few pics of 1st and 5th grade to start off the new year!

One of the best things about being a music teacher is having former students come back and visit, especially ones that have done amazing things musically. It was so nice to. Have Josh Davis come see us at our choir party. He has always had an amazing voice and was even on the Voice a few years ago! I take no credit for his musical accomplishments but I am so blessed to have taught him and many other talented young singers over the years.

Dec 14th was 3-5 night and our Panther Cub choir. Lots of songs, readings that brought people to tears and a special performance of Mariah Carey by Granny and her jingle girls! Over 100 kids participated making it a truly magical night!

Christmas was a big hit at CESA this year! K-2 Christmas program was amazing! Over 100 students participated! We had songs and sweet readings and it was a wonderful night!

Our Panther Cub choir toured our community Dec 3rd! Here are a couple of pictures! We enjoyed sharing our voices!

This week, grades 3, 4 and 5 have been learning about other cultural traditions that happen in December. This week we played dreidel and talked about Hanukkah!
