To Our Families United For4 Justice Network,

Our hearts are heavy as we mourn alongside the Joseph family following the sudden passing of Andrew Joseph Jr. on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

For many within our network, Andrew was not just the father of Andrew Joseph III — lovingly known by many as “Pee Wee” — whose tragic death in 2014 shook families across this nation. “Big Drew” became family to this movement, while remaining a loving and devoted father to his precious daughter, Deja Joseph.

Andrew and his wife, Deanna Joseph, were among the very first families to stand with us at Love ❤️ Not Blood 🩸 Campaign’s very first Families United For4 Justice Network Conference in September–October 2014 in Oakland, California.
From the very beginning, they opened their hearts, shared their pain, and became part of a community built from unimaginable loss, resilience, and love.

Anyone who knew Andrew “Big Drew” knew his spirit was big and unforgettable. He was outspoken, passionate, boisterous in the moment, and deeply protective of his son’s legacy. He carried the weight of losing Andrew Joseph III, yet still found the strength to stand with and encourage other grieving families walking this painful road.

His passing is being felt throughout our entire network.

For over 10 years, this network has united more than a thousand impacted families from across the country. Together, we have created sacred spaces of healing where families who lost loved ones to police violence and injustice could gather, cry, laugh, remember, and simply breathe among people who truly understand.

The Joseph family has always been part of that foundation, serving on the FUF4J Network Collective for nine years. As a collective, we traveled all across this country, leaving every platform on fire for justice and accountability.

To Deanna Joseph, Deja Joseph, and the entire Joseph family:

Please know you are wrapped in love, prayer, and support from families all across this nation. We mourn with you. We honor Andrew Joseph Jr.’s life, his love and fight for his beloved Andrew Joseph III, and the strength he poured into this movement and into so many others.

And to our Families United For4 Justice Network:

Please hold one another close during this difficult time. Loss like this reopens wounds for many families who continue carrying grief every single day. Reach out to one another. Pray for one another. Love on one another.

May we continue to carry each other through heartbreak, through healing, and through the long journey toward accountability and justice.

Whose House?
Our House.
Break Down!

A jury has ordered the City of Houston to pay $13 million to the family of Charles Payne Sr., who was killed in 2021 when HPD officer Christopher Cabrera—going 70 mph in a 35 zone—crashed into him. This verdict is a powerful step toward accountability. Charles should still be alive. Nothing should excuse reckless police conduct, not even a badge.

We thank the jury for listening to the evidence and recognizing the truth of what happened to Charles Payne Sr. This verdict cannot erase the overwhelming pain of losing him, but it is an important measure of justice for his family.

We are grateful for every prayer, every word of support, and every person who stood with this family throughout this long and difficult fight. We hope this decision helps strengthen policies to ensure that law enforcement operate their vehicles in a way that keeps the communities they serve safe. We hope that no other family has to experience a tragedy like this.
