The theme for International Women’s Day 2026 is “Give To Gain.” It is a global call to action reminding us that when we invest in women, through support, visibility, resources, mentorship, and opportunity, everyone benefits. Progress for women creates progress for communities, industries, and future generations.
This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating 48 incredible women in child safety and child protection who are working across the world to create safer environments for children.
From online safety and abuse prevention to policy, advocacy, education, and humanitarian protection, their work is helping protect the next generation.
In the spirit of “Give To Gain,” we are giving these women the recognition, visibility, and celebration they deserve, because when we uplift women working to protect children, the entire world gains.
We are proud to feature them in our IWD 2026 list.
Tap the link in our bio or visit our blog at https://thesafetychic.com/blog/ to read the full feature and meet the women behind this important work.

Two weeks ago, our Founder spoke at the Nutrition4Kids Family Wellness Conference on a topic that matters deeply to every parent and caregiver:
Safe Spaces, Confident Kids: Building Physical & Emotional Safety at Home.
Some highlights from the session are below:
Child safety is more than outlet covers and stair gates, It’s the conversations we have. The boundaries we set. The habits we model. The digital spaces we monitor.
During the session, she unpacked:
• The “Big Three” home risks: falls, choking/poisoning, and fire/electricity
• Why emotional safety starts with becoming a trusted safe space
• The importance of early body safety conversations
• How digital parenting protects children in an increasingly online world
• Practical ways to build safety competence, not fear, in children
Data from organizations like RAINN and the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention reminds us that many risks children face happen in familiar spaces, which means prevention starts at home.
The most powerful takeaway?
Ensuring child safety is a choice, not an accident.
If you’re a parent, educator, or child advocate:
What is one action you’ll begin this week to make your environment safer for children?
Intentionally building a safety conscious generation.

Every child has thoughts they can’t always express, but as adults, we can learn to listen beyond words.
Safety starts with empathy and everyday conversation, so we can raise children who feel heard, protected, and confident to speak up.
Let’s move from fear-based instructions to calm, confident teaching, rooted in wisdom and love.
