🏕️ YEAR 5 CAMP — DAY 3 🇦🇺

And just like that… Camp Canberra is coming to an end! We’re officially on our way home after three huge days.

Today’s adventures took us to the National Capital Exhibition and the Australian Institute of Sport, where we got a final dose of history, sport and all things Australian.

Mr Mealing was in his element at the AIS, reminiscing about his glory days. The students are still waiting for photographic evidence.

Meanwhile, Miss Ansell somehow managed to sneak off for a few laps in the Olympic pool. She apparently looked so convincing that she was mistaken for one of the athletes.

And then came the final stop of camp… Maccas.

After three action-packed days, it’s time to hand them back over. Parents, TAG — YOU’RE IT!

❄️ YEAR 5 CAMP — DAY 2 🇦🇺

Day 2 has been another big one! We started the morning with a trip to Corin Forest for some snow-filled fun before heading back into Canberra to explore the National Museum of Australia, take in the views from Mt Ainslie and finish up with an action-packed visit to Questacon.

There was plenty of learning, plenty of exploring and, of course, plenty of laughs along the way.

A special mention must go to Mr Dearsley, who approached the snow with all the confidence of an experienced snow athlete… and the coordination of Bambi on ice. His attempt at a snowball fight quickly turned into a battle against gravity, with the Year 5 students proving to be much more dangerous than the snow itself.

Now it’s time to wind down, switch off and enjoy a movie before we recharge for another big day tomorrow!

🏛️ YEAR 5 CAMP — DAY 1 🇦🇺

And just like that… we’ve made it to Canberra!

Day 1 was packed with politics, history and approximately 847 “Are we there yet?” questions.

We explored Old Parliament House, New Parliament House, the National Electoral Education Centre and the Australian War Memorial, soaking up plenty of Australian history and learning along the way.

But the biggest development of the day?

After being inspired by today’s events, Miss Brown has officially announced her campaign for Prime Minister!

Her first agenda? Chocolate in every classroom, unlimited soccer and sushi available at every school.

Stay tuned… Canberra may have just witnessed the beginning of a political revolution.

What a way to kick off our Year 5 adventure 🇦🇺.

It’s been a big term for our performers, and we couldn’t be prouder of their performances! 🥰🥰🥰
