Polloc Freeport and Ecozone (PFEZ) has achieved another major milestone after being recognized as the recipient of the “Top 1 Emerging Overall Collection Award for 2025” during the Annual Bangsamoro Local Revenue Collection Forum held on May 21, 2026, at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex in Cotabato City.

The recognition underscores PFEZ’s exceptional performance in revenue collection and its continuing commitment to efficiency, integrity, and fiscal responsibility in support of the Bangsamoro Government’s sustainable development goals. Along with the prestigious award, PFEZ also received an ₱18,000 cash incentive.

This latest achievement adds to PFEZ’s growing list of accomplishments after previously being recognized in 2024 as one of the Top 3 Non-Tax Revenue Collectors by the Bangsamoro Treasury Office, highlighting the agency’s consistent excellence and steady progress in revenue generation and public service performance.

As one of the region’s emerging economic gateways, PFEZ continues to strengthen its role in advancing local revenue generation, promoting transparent governance, and contributing to the overall economic growth of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
The Annual Bangsamoro Local Revenue Collection Forum served as a venue for collaboration among various Ministries, Offices, and Agencies in reinforcing accountability, innovation, and efficiency in fiscal management and public service.

This achievement further solidifies PFEZ’s position as a growing force in regional development and a vital contributor to a stronger and more progressive Bangsamoro economy.

Representatives from the OCM – Strategic Communications Team visited the Polloc Freeport and Ecozone (PFEZ) on May 14, 2026 to discuss initiatives aimed at strengthening economic governance and institutional coordination within the Bangsamoro Region.
The engagement highlighted the strategic role of Polloc Port in advancing regional economic integration, trade facilitation, investments, tourism, and economic connectivity following the recent BIMP-EAGA engagements.
Discussions also focused on key challenges and recommendations toward enhancing port operations, improving inter-agency coordination, and advancing the overall investment climate in BARMM.

MV Span Asia 73 successfully arrived at Polloc Port on May 17, 2026, marking another active day of maritime operations at the Polloc Freeport and Ecozone (PFEZ).

The vessel’s arrival reflects the continuing role of Polloc Port in facilitating cargo movement, supporting trade activities, and strengthening regional economic connectivity within BARMM and neighboring areas.

The Polloc Freeport and Economic Zone (PFEZ), under the leadership of Port Administrator Salipada B. Alongan, welcomed a delegation of Malaysian investors during their recent visit.

The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to tour key facilities within PFEZ and engage directly with its officials. Discussions focused on operational capabilities, cargo handling services, available spaces for potential locators, and ongoing developments supporting its continued expansion.

PFEZ officials highlighted its readiness to accommodate future investments through growing infrastructure, accessible services, and streamlined processes designed to support efficient business operations. The delegation also gained insights into the advantages of locating within the freeport, including its strategic access to trade routes and its role in facilitating smooth movement of goods.

On May 3, 2026, the Polloc Freeport and Ecozone (PFEZ) welcomed Tawi-Tawi Governor Yshmael “Mang” Sali, Member of Parliament Don Mustapha Arbison Loong, and Bangsamoro Ports Management Authority (BPMA) Director Bai Amelia M. Abo for a site visit to explore the port’s operational capabilities and development potential.

PFEZ officials, led by Port Administrator Salipada B. Alongan, together with Barangay Chairman Abdulfatah S. Paswiran, received the delegation and guided them through the port. 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | Even during the Maundy Thursday holiday and into the evening hours, Polloc Freeport and Ecozone remained fully operational, welcoming 𝐌𝐕 𝐑𝐎𝐘𝐀𝐋 𝐅𝐀𝐋𝐂𝐎𝐍 from Vietnam carrying 25,400 metric tons of corn in bulk for Lamsan Inc. From anchorage and arrival formalities to nighttime docking, port authorities ensured seamless handling of the vessel, reflecting PFEZ’s commitment to providing continuous, efficient, and reliable service to all incoming ships, regardless of time or holiday.

The vessel’s arrival underscores the port’s capability to manage international cargo operations smoothly, even beyond regular working hours, ensuring timely delivery of essential goods. Through the coordinated efforts of pilot services, medical and quarantine officers, and port personnel, PFEZ continues to demonstrate that its operations are always ready to serve, reinforcing its vital role in sustaining regional trade and logistics.
