Every year, Osseo Area Schools strives to build a calendar that prioritizes student learning while respecting the time and needs of our families and hardworking staff. While it’s clear there isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution, your feedback is the most important tool our team has in finding the best possible balance.

Summer Kidstop, a choice-based, high-quality enrichment program for students entering kindergarten through fifth grade in fall 2026, will open online registration at 6 a.m. March 3.

At the January school board meeting, our board passed (5-1) a resolution formally committing to student safety, equity, and inclusion, holding ourselves accountable to keep schools as spaces where every student can thrive. This resolution matters because fear and uncertainty can disrupt attendance and engagement, and it clearly signals our commitment to keeping every student safe, supported, and welcomed.

It affirms that ALL students—regardless of immigration status—have safe, welcoming, and uninterrupted access to education, protects student privacy, limits immigration enforcement on school property, and ensures schools remain focused on learning, belonging, and well-being.

I’m honestly at a loss right now. Watching the anxiety and terror through our communities is devastating. What happened is senseless…it is inhumane, and the lack of humanity is completely horrifying.
