⭐Theresa Okogwa announced as Labour candidate for Lattersey⭐
Fenland Labour is delighted to announce Theresa Okogwa as our candidate for the Lattersey Ward by-election for Whittlesey Town Council on Thursday 10 September.
Theresa lives in Whittlesey and is a solicitor, school governor and community leader. She is committed to being a visible, accessible councillor who listens to local residents and works with them.
“My approach is simple. I will listen, I will be accessible and I will work with people,” Theresa said.
A qualified solicitor with 15 years’ legal experience, Theresa specialises in family law, immigration and civil litigation. Her work involves helping people navigate complex problems, understanding their individual circumstances and finding practical solutions.
Theresa is also a governor at Alderman Jacobs School and Heritage Park Primary School and President of the Nigerian Community in Peterborough. Alongside her legal work, she works as a Business Analyst with Cambridge University Press & Assessment.
A key priority for Theresa is ensuring that Whittlesey’s growth works for the whole community. New housing must be accompanied by the roads, safe crossings, drainage and local services needed to support it. She also wants to protect Lattersey’s green spaces and the character of the area.
“Whittlesey needs new homes, but development must come with the infrastructure our community needs. We must also protect the green spaces that make our town a good place to live.”
Theresa previously stood for Labour in the North West Whittlesey Town and District Council by-elections in October 2025 and has continued campaigning locally. She is Fenland Labour’s Women’s Officer and BAME Officer.
Over the coming weeks, Theresa and the Fenland Labour team will be talking to residents across Lattersey and listening to what they want from their Town Council.
On Thursday 10 September, vote Theresa Okogwa – Labour for Lattersey ❤🌹✨
