Yesterday OSU student Volunteers with Camp Kesem picked up 160 blankets for their campers, loading them into 3 cars. Camp Kesem is for children who have a parent dealing with cancer. These wonderful volunteers told us they want to bring fun to the children, so everyone has a nickname. Thank you Ben (“Wings”), Anna(“Scooter”), Abby (“Muffin”) and Gabbie (“Lala”), and all the other OSU student volunteers, for all you do to bring fun to the children you work with. We are proud to partner with you to provide special “ blanket hugs” to the children.

Carol P. used panels and some coordinating backing fabrics that had been donated to us, (along with fabric of her own) to sew these 10 beautifully stitched and quilted “Ariel” quilts. The blue and green pinwheel quilt is also a donated creation of hers. Thank you Carol for all the time and care you dedicate to making quilts for children.

Martha G brought these 24 beautiful baby blankets ( made by her mom Sue) to our labeling meeting Saturday. They are some of the 134 blankets our 17 volunteers labeled, sized and sorted. Blankets from this meeting will be going to NICU at Mt Carmel- Grove City, Jewish Family Services, Pregnancy Support Organizations, and YWCA Family Center. Some are being added to our large special summer camp requests for Camp Kesem, Camp Lionheart, and Royal Family Kids Camp. Thank you to all of the "Blanketeers" and Volunteers who help us provide the warmth and comfort of new handmade blanket hugs to children in need.
