America was founded with a presumption of liberty that placed a burden upon the government office holders to demonstrate constitutionality before passing a law. In Nov 2010 Rasmussen reported 44% of Americans believe government is operating outside of the Constitution, 17% aren’t sure. Our goal is to inspire, inform and support that 61% causing it to elect representatives who will turn the country around. Just as the antidote is derived from the venom or the vaccine from the germ, the cure for what ails our country is found through the Obama presidency; he has hastened the rise of the Constitutional conservative movement. The Founders foresaw usurpation of the Constitution and gave us a remedy for it. Madison wrote in Federalist 44: “…in the last resort a remedy must be obtained from the people who can, by the election of more faithful representatives, annul the acts of the usurpers.” The Tea Party movement is that last resort remedy in action today. To reclaim the Constitution as the law that binds the government, we must begin by changing attitudes about government on an even wider basis. This website, www.SecureTheseRights.net is a community formed for that purpose. This web site will help inspire that action, building a community of activists who are Constitutionally literate and effective in political application. Each one of us must learn how to apply the Constitution and reassert it as the Supreme Law that the government must adhere too. We will do this through blogging, newsletters, books and training videos.
