SUPPORTING A SPECIAL SOUL IN NEED!

Meet Tshering, a resilient 16-year-old from the remote Zobel Gewog in Pemagatshel. Born into a family struggling to meet even the most basic needs, Tshering now faces yet another challenge: he was recently diagnosed with a learning disability and is recognized as a child with special needs at school. His has been receiving some support from his school, but the road ahead remains difficult without consistent help.

RS Rainbow Foundation has stepped forward to support Tshering—providing his school essentials, casual clothing, pocket money, and most importantly, the care and encouragement he deserves. We are committed to being by his side in the long run, through mentorship, regular check-ins, and family engagement.

We deeply thank our program officer, Ngawang Jorden , whose dedication made this project a success.

HIS SILENT STRUGGLE, OUR SHARED HOPE!

At just 12 years old, Sangay (full name withheld for privacy), a bright student from Trashigang, carries a weight far beyond his years. Born into a broken home, Sangay’s childhood has been shaped by hardship — a fractured family, a mother battling alcoholism, and a home that could never provide the stability or support he deserved.

Every school year, Sangay has shown up without proper uniforms, without supplies — not because he lacked the will to learn, but because his circumstances denied him the chance. Yet, despite it all, his dream remains beautifully simple: to go to school like any other child.

At RS Rainbow Foundation, we are deeply moved by Sangay’s story and stand firmly committed to walking this journey with him. From school uniforms and learning materials to casual clothes, pocket money, and any support he may need along the way — we are here for the long haul.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated Program Officer, Mr. FuEnso Dorji , whose compassion and tireless efforts have been key in bringing this support to life on the ground.

LEFT BEHIND, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

Deki (full name withheld for privacy) is only in her early primary, but her life has already been marked by deep hardship. Abandoned by her mother and with no trace of her father, she now lives under the care of her elderly grandmother in extremely poor conditions. Alongside her are her younger brother, a young monk, and her elder sister, still a student herself. Without a proper home, basic needs, or even a census record to access services, this small family struggles every day just to survive.

Despite her young age, Deki carries a quiet burden far too heavy for a child. Her grandmother, already frail, tries her best to provide—but with so little income and no external support, even daily meals are uncertain. Deki often goes to school without proper gear, and the weight of her situation is written all over her innocent face.

RS Rainbow Foundation has stepped in to offer support—starting with essential rations and household needs. But we know this isn’t a one-time fix. That’s why we are committed to supporting Deki in the long run, ensuring she receives school gear, pocket money, and continued assistance for her home so she can focus on being a child again, not just surviving.

We would also like to acknowledge our kind-hearted Program Officer, Mr. Pema Dorji, who personally visited the family and made this support possible.

TURNING PAIN INTO POSSIBILITY

Meet a young boy from Dalaythang, Dagana Dzongkhag, growing up in heartbreaking conditions. With no memory of his father and a mother who has remarried and left his life, he now lives with his elderly grandparents, who struggle to care for him and his also-abandoned younger brother. Despite their love, limited income and age make it hard to meet even basic needs. In school, he often appears lost and withdrawn—his poor performance reflecting the emotional weight of a life without stable support or care.

Now, RS Rainbow Foundation has stepped in with a long-term commitment to walk beside him until he becomes independent. We've provided full school gear, uniform, and essentials, and will continue to support him with pocket money, home necessities, and mentorship to help him heal and grow.

This heartfelt support was made posssible by our dedicated program officer, Mr. པད་མ དབང་ཕྱུག། whose efforts brought project to life. We sincerely thank him for his unwavering compassion.

LIGHTING THE PATH FOR A BRIGHT SOUL

Meet Yeshi (full name withheld for privacy), a young student from Pemagatshel, raised by his elderly grandmother with no trace of his parents. Life has been tough, with scarce resources barely enough for daily survival—let alone building self-worth or confidence. Yet, despite these struggles, Yeshi continues to shine with determination and hope at his school.

With his school offering basic support, RS Rainbow Foundation has stepped in to go above and beyond—committing to stand by Yeshi for the long run. From school gear and stationery to casual clothes, pocket money, and more, we’re here to ensure he doesn’t just get by, but truly thrives.

This heartfelt support was made possible by our dedicated program officer, Mr. Ngawang Jorden, who went above and beyond his own work responsibilities to ensure everything reached Ugyen on time.

CARING FOR THE FORGOTTEN!

We are humbled to share that R&S Rainbow Foundation has extended full support to Mr. Tshongpa, a 79-year-old resident of Mudungkhar village in Mongar, who has been living alone with physical disabilities (deaf and mute), and without any source of income or family care.

Understanding his vulnerable situation, our foundation has taken the initiative to cover all of Mr. Tshongpa’s basic needs for the rest of his life, including:
🍚 Monthly food rations
🧣 Warm clothing and bedding
🧼 Personal hygiene supplies
💡 Daily living essentials
🏥 Access to basic healthcare and wellbeing support

Mr. Tshongpa can now live with dignity and comfort, knowing he is not forgotten. 💛

At R&S Rainbow Foundation, we believe no one should be left behind, especially our elderly who have no one else to turn to.

RISING AGAIST ALL ODDS!

We are currently supporting few individual students from various remote schools across Bhutan!

One such case is the young emerging student, Mr. Sonam (full name withheld for privacy), a 17-year-old student from Tashigang. He comes from a family facing great hardships. His father, even with a past leg injury and donating a kidney to his brother, continues to do hard physical labour to support the family and their needs. To worsen the situation, Sonam’s mother was diagnosed with dementia.

Despite these challenges, Sonam has excelled academically emerging as the school topper in the 2024 BCSE examinations. He can continue to focus on studies and perform really well if he has the right financial support. Here is how we enter the picture to ensure that he has adequate financial help to
meet his educational expenses without adding a burden to his family.
