During the meeting, large-scale reform measures were approved to modernize the regulatory framework and enhance enforcement capacity. The Board decided to further strengthen statutory powers for the destruction of adulterated and unsafe food to ensure swift action against violators and protect consumers from hazardous food products.

The Provincial Minister for Food informed the Board that from July 2025 to January 2026, a total of 47,875 inspections and improvement notices were issued across Sindh. He further informed that a total amount of Rs. 343,291,901 was collected under licensing fees and fines, reflecting the Authority’s strengthened enforcement and regulatory oversight mechanisms.

The Board granted in-principle approval for comprehensive amendments to the Sindh Food Authority Act, 2016, aimed at modernizing the legal framework governing food safety in the province. To ensure greater transparency in the food supply chain, the Board approved the introduction of a Track & Trace system. This system will enable electronic monitoring of food production and distribution, thereby improving traceability, preventing adulteration, and strengthening regulatory control.

The Board also approved procurement of essential equipment for the Central Food Testing Laboratory, Karachi, and two Mobile Food Testing Laboratories. These upgrades will significantly enhance scientific testing capacity, field surveillance, and evidence-based enforcement across Sindh.

Speaking on the occasion, Provincial Minister for Food Makhdoom Mehboub uz Zaman reiterated that the provision of safe and quality food to the public remains the foremost priority of the Government of Sindh.

صوبائی وزیر جامعات محمد اسماعیل راہو کے مطابق مسیحی برادری کے مقدس ایام کے احترام میں تمام تعلیمی بورڈز کو ہدایت جاری کی گئی ہے کہ 2 تا 6 اپریل 2026 کے دوران کوئی بھی امتحان شیڈول نہ کیا جائے۔

یہ فیصلہ سندھ حکومت کی جانب سے وزیر اعلیٰ سندھ کی ہدایت پر کیا گیا، جو سینٹ پیٹرک ہائی اسکول کراچی کے پرنسپل ریورنڈ فادر ماریو اے روڈریگز کی درخواست پر عمل میں لایا گیا۔

صوبائی وزیر نے بتایا کہ وزیر اعلیٰ سندھ نے مسیحی برادری کے مذہبی جذبات کے احترام میں امتحانات کی تاریخوں میں تبدیلی کا حکم دیا تھا۔

اس فیصلے کے تحت جمعرات 2 اپریل سے 6 اپریل 2026 تک کوئی پرچہ نہیں لیا جائے گا۔ تمام ملتوی شدہ یا نئے شیڈول کے مطابق امتحانات اب 7 اپریل 2026 بروز منگل سے دوبارہ شروع ہوں گے۔

جن تعلیمی بورڈز نے پہلے سے ٹائم ٹیبل جاری کر رکھا ہے، وہ فوری طور پر ضروری ترامیم کر کے نیا شیڈول جاری کریں۔صوبائی وزیر کے مطابق اس اقدام کا مقصد صوبے میں بین المذاہب ہم آہنگی کو فروغ دینا اور اقلیتی طلبہ و اساتذہ کو مذہبی تہواروں کے دوران سہولت فراہم کرنا ہے۔
