We’re thrilled to welcome Renee John as our new Deputy Director of Workforce Development!

Renee brings over a decade of powerhouse leadership in workforce strategy, economic mobility, and community impact. From leading regional initiatives at Valley Vision to strengthening opportunity programs at Folsom Cordova Community Partnership she’s been a champion for adults, youth, and underserved communities across our region.

For our second , we asked why our staff love working at SETA and Chrissy shared, "I love the people I work with!" ❤️ When you love what you do, it shows!

One of our incredible clients, Cassandra, shared how their journey with SETA helped her build the confidence she needed to pursue her career.

Cassandra was introduced to SETA through Welfare-To-Work and signed up to receive communication from our Sacramento Works program. She received ongoing and consistent notifications about SETA events, career fairs, and job openings throughout Sacramento County. Through resume assistance and job coaching, Cassandra received an offer to work at Kaiser, and has been there since. Now, she is continuing to utilize our services with the goal to go into Radiology and motivates her family members to also utilize SETA's support.

She states, "[SETA’s Sacramento Works program] has given me financial independence and confidence. Sometimes it’s not easy to apply to jobs because you don’t have the right wording on a resume and you just don’t have the confidence. I feel [SETA] gave me the confidence to apply to the position I personally wanted. Having support and backing is what matters when you’re going for anything in life, whatever the goals are. Support is needed and SETA is here to support you. Whatever you think you might need, you come down to SETA and they’re going to figure it out with you."
