On this day June 6th 1944, the Allied Forces landed on the beaches of Normandy – a turning point in World War II and one of the greatest military operations in our nation’s history. Today, we honor those who lost their lives in the name of freedom.

Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month is a time to raise awareness and understanding for those living with the challenges of Alzheimer's and other brain-related disabilities. Whether it be a family member, friend, or a loved one, this month we support and advocate on behalf of those who are suffering with these challenging ailments.

Proud to congratulate Staten Island Marine Jaime Gonzalez on his well-deserved induction into the New York State Senate Veteran Hall of Fame! A decorated Desert Storm veteran who earned the Combat Action Ribbon, Jaime has served our community for over 34 years through the American Legion and Marine Corps League, mentoring youth and supporting fellow veterans. Thank you for your lifelong service, Jaime!

Freedom isn’t free. For the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom and defending our great nation, we are eternally grateful.

Everything costs more in Governor Hochul’s New York, and rising gas prices are worsening the affordability crisis for hardworking families, commuters, farmers, and small businesses. That’s why my Senate Republican colleagues and I are calling on the Governor to immediately suspend the state gas and diesel taxes to provide direct relief at the pump. New Yorkers received this relief in 2022 when gas prices hit record highs, and taxpayers deserve that same relief again today instead of more excuses from Albany Democrats.
