In case you haven't heard, Ned Irwin, the first county archivist is RETIRING on January 17th. Ned was hired in 2012, and built the archives from scratch. There was no space to house the records, and he didn't yet know the volume of records held by the county! His invaluable contributions to the effort made the Washington County Archives a reality. It is because of him that you can visit the archives and learn more about the history of the county, and your genealogy!
We are planning to host a reception with light refreshments for him here at the archives on January 17th, from 1:00 - 3:00. If you can, please stop by and wish him well.
