What he's saying is that $1.60 in 1968 could buy what it takes $14.00 to buy today. This is a direct result of government spending. We can't tax our way out of a two trillion-dollar deficit. Learn more about the Libertarian Party in the comment section.
S.C. House bill H.3557 has passed the House and Senate and will be heading to the Governor's desk. This bill is being touted as protecting the integrity of primaries, but what isn't being talked about is how it is also going to restrict your choice at the ballot box. It is an egregious example of politicians abusing their power to protect themselves from competition. Call the Governors office and demand he VETO this bill. Politicians just acting like they have no idea how money works is hilarious. There really are only two options here. Either they are incompetent to hold their positions or they're being dishonest.

South Carolina Bill H.3557 would limit ballot access and protect major party duopoly control over elections. This bill would create new barriers for candidates and make it harder for third parties to compete.
Key concerns:
• Mandatory filing fees for all political parties, even parties that do not hold primaries
• Authorizes additional certification fees of up to $100
• Shortens the filing period, creating additional hurdles for candidates
Elected officials are supposed to be public servants. People should not have to pay for the opportunity to serve their community.
H.3557 is a barrier to election competition and voter choice. It functions like a ballot-access tax on candidates by forcing them to pay new fees just to get on the ballot.
There is still time to stop this. Contact your state representative today and ask them to REJECT Bill H.3557.

It's not just about the legal process to initiate a war. It's about the libertarian principle of non-aggression. Libertarians believe it's immoral to attack another sovereign country who has not initiated an attack on us.
Further, our presence across the world only serves to irritate the region, and we believe we should bring our military home, close overseas bases, and get back to the founding principle of being a defensive force, instead of the world's police. A policy which has cost countless lives and dollars and made us no safer, while plunging us into staggering debt.
From our platform:
2.1 Aggression, Property, and Contract
Aggression is the use, trespass against, or invasion of the borders of another person’s owned resource (property) without the owner’s consent; or the threat thereof. We oppose all acts of aggression as illegitimate and unjust, whether committed by private actors or the state.
3.1 National Defense
We support the maintenance of a sufficient military to defend the United States against aggression. The United States should both avoid entangling alliances and abandon its attempts to act as policeman for the world. We oppose any form of compulsory national service.
3.3 International Affairs
American foreign policy should emphasize peace with all nations, entangling alliances with none. We would end the current U.S. government policies of foreign intervention including military and economic aid; tariffs; economic sanctions; and regime change. We recognize the right of all people to resist tyranny and defend themselves and their rights. We condemn the use of force, and especially the use of terrorism, against the innocent, regardless of whether such acts are committed by governments or by political or revolutionary groups.
