As we look forward to the celebration of Cooperative Month in the coming weeks, the House of Representatives Committee on Cooperatives Development, chaired by COOP NATCCO Partylist Representative Congressman Felimon “Emon” Espares, together with the members of the Committee, will spearhead a Painting Contest as part of this year’s celebration.

The activity aims to showcase the creativity, talents, values, and spirit of cooperativism while highlighting the important role of cooperatives in building inclusive, resilient, and sustainable communities.

This training is designed to strengthen participants’ understanding of the fundamentals of cooperatives, cooperative values and principles, governance, and effective cooperative management.

ADVISORY

The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region X Extension Office will conduct its Staff Meeting on September 7–8, 2026, in Cagayan de Oro City. During these dates, all employees of the Regional Extension Office, including personnel assigned to its Satellite Offices, will be attending the activity.

As such, only minimal and urgent transactions will be accommodated at the Regional Extension Office through a skeletal workforce. Meanwhile, the Satellite Offices will be temporarily closed during the said dates. Clients are encouraged to schedule non-urgent transactions after the activity. Regular office operations at the Regional Extension Office and Satellite Offices will resume on September 9, 2026.

The Finance and Agriculture Cooperatives Cluster successfully conducted their Cluster Strategic Planning and Leadership Training, held on August 10–13, 2026, in Dumaguete City.

During the activity, Mr. Floriano Hilot, CEO of Oro Integrated Cooperative, formally took his oath as the R10 President of the RCO Finance Cluster. The oath-taking and induction ceremony were administered by Asec. Luz H. Yringco, CDA Board Member, Agriculture and Finance Cluster Head.

The activity provided an important venue for cooperative leaders to strengthen their leadership capacities, align priorities, and formulate strategic directions toward a more responsive, cohesive, and sustainable cooperative sector.

All CDA-Regulated Entities (CDAREs) in Region X are reminded to establish and operationalize their Financial Consumer Protection Assistance Management System (FCPAMS) and submit the required evidentiary documents.
