Happy New Year, everyone. With 2026 upon us, I am officially honored to serve as the Council Member for New York City’s 30th District. This is the community I have called home for decades, and it is truly a privilege to represent my neighbors.
First, I want to sincerely thank my predecessor, Council Member Robert Holden, for his tireless work over the last eight years in office and more than 30 years as a civic leader and volunteer in our neighborhoods. These are big shoes to fill, and I am honored to take the mantle and hit the ground running.
Second, I will be announcing staff appointments soon, and I believe residents will be pleased to see who will be serving the district. During my campaign, I promised to continue the same strong constituent services our community has come to expect, and I fully intend to deliver on that promise.
Please note that the office contact information remains the same, and we will continue to operate out of our Maspeth office located at 58-38 69 Street. While we finalize social media accounts, you can reach us at 718-366-3900 or by email at [email protected]. The office will fully reopen with regular business hours on Monday, January 5th.
Committee assignments and other updates will be announced in the coming weeks. Stay tuned, and please don’t hesitate to contact the office if you need assistance. I look forward to seeing you out in the community.

A living legend. Enjoy your retirement.
Thank you to all the residents of District 30 including Maspeth, Middle Village, Glendale, Rego Park, Elmhurst and Ridgewood, as well as the former residents of Woodhaven and Woodside, for allowing me to serve you over the past 8 years and for more than 30 years as a civic leader, Little League coach, and Community Board member. It has truly been the honor of a lifetime.
We had many successes together, including bringing millions of your tax dollars back into the district for parks, schools, infrastructure, and quality of life improvements. We did not get everything done that we set out to accomplish, but we made real progress together and left the district better than we found it.
I wish my successor, Phil Wong, the very best, and I have full confidence in him and the staff who will continue working hard every day for you. I’ll still be around and hope you will stay in touch. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy New Year.

By focusing on the issues people care about.
How did Phil Wong win in Queens’ purplest district?
The Democratic candidate outperformed even his own expectations, riding the “Mamdani tsunami.”

I'd like to thank the American New York Chinese Association and Lin Family Association for inviting me to their banquet to celebrate my victory. In attendance were Assembly Members Lester Chang and Grace Lee, State Senator John Liu and Council Member Susan Zhuang.
