We all know that the inside of your car gets very hot on days like this, but we just wanted to take a moment to let you know how hot. This was my personal vehicle sitting in our parking lot today.

Be aware of how deadly this temperature can be if you leave a baby, child or even an adult inside with no cool air. Everyone need to be careful and aware - Never leave your child alone in a car.

Be safe everyone.

🎥 A little under TWO WEEKS remain for Tennessee high school students to show off their talents!

Want to go viral? Love creating content? Think you can get a fire safety message across in just 30 seconds? Show us what you’ve got.

This year, the Tennessee Public Fire Educators Association is excited to launch our first statewide Digital Media PSA Contest for Fire Prevention Week!

Students should create a 30-second PSA based on this year’s NFPA Fire Prevention Week theme, “Charge into Fire Safety™: Safe Charging is Your Superpower.”

Pick a target audience and get creative! Every entry needs to include:
• At least one fire safety fact
• At least one clear call to action
• A message focused on safe lithium-ion battery charging

🚒 Fire departments: Not sure how to get the word out?

Reach out to your local high school principals, media or broadcasting teachers, and school districts and ask them to share the opportunity. Don’t forget private schools and homeschool groups, too! Share it on your department page, community Facebook groups, and anywhere else students and families may see it.

If you need help reaching out to your community, send us a message. We’re happy to help however we can!

The contest itself is another opportunity to get your community talking about lithium-ion battery safety.

🏆 Winners will be recognized at the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office awards ceremony on November 7, with prizes including $50 awards and more.

Help us showcase Tennessee’s talented students while spreading an important fire safety message across the state.

Help us help keep Tennessee safe. 🔋🔥
