Reflecting on the unfortunate fire incident that occurred in Custom Market, I stand in solidarity with all the victims of the situation.
I reiterate the call by H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit for a thorough investigation into the cause of the incident.
Situations like this can lead to major economic setbacks. Therefore, I call for a support to the affected traders and encourage the concerned institutions to consider proper restructuring of our markets to avoid such incidents nationwide.

Today, I had the honor to attend the thanksgiving event organized to honor the appointment of H.E. Cde. Dr. James Wani Igga as the Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan and the Chair of the Economic Cluster as well as the First Deputy Chairman of our mighty SPLM Party.
Your Excellency, your appointment is a reflection of your significant contributions to the Republic of South Sudan and the SPLM Party.
As you assume office to take on the responsibilities assigned to you by our President H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, let us unite and work harder to inspire a brighter future and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our people and steer our nation towards peace, stability, and prosperity.

๐๐ฎ๐๐, ๐๐๐ฉ๐ญ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ญ๐ก, ๐๐๐๐ โ Yesterday, the SPLM Secretary General, Cde. Prof. Paul Logale Jumi attended the thanksgiving celebration organized for Hon. Adut Salva Kiir, the Senior Presidential Envoy for Special Programs, by the Bahr El-Ghazal Women for Development.
The event brought together high-level government officials from the national and state governments, the SPLM Party, different communities, women groups, and religious leaders among other groups.
Representing the SPLM Party, Cde. Prof. Jumi congratulated Hon. Adut and acknowledged that Hon. Adut's appointment is based on her character and not her relationship with her father, H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan. โHon. Adut, your appointment has been highly welcomed by almost everyone nationwide not because of your relationship with the president but because of the character you showed to our leaders and people of South Sudan. Congratulation!โ โ said Cde. Prof Jumi.
Cde. Prof. Jumi also urged Hon. Adut to consider her appointment as a reward to the suffering of the women of South Sudan. He said, "We know that women suffered disproportionately in the last senseless conflicts, with sexual violence, displacement, and impacts on their health and their livelihoods. Your appointment, Cde. Adut, should be a new chapter of relief and healing to their wounds".
The SPLM Secretary General cheered Hon. Adut for embracing open doors policy and implored her to continue with the same spirit as he says, โI want to see you continue opening your office doors to every woman who would like your attention and supportโ.
He further pledged full support of the SPLM Party to the Senior Presidential Envoy for Special program while saying, โI wanted to assure you that the SPLM National Secretariat is behind you and will support you so that you can serve our nation with dignity".
The event was marked with joy, praises and renewed hope for both the women and people of South Sudan.

Juba, September 8th, 2025 - A high-level delegation from Jonglei State, led by Governor H.E. Dr. Riak G*i Kok, paid a courtesy visit to the SPLM Secretary General, Cde. Prof. Paul Logale Jumi.
H.E. Dr. Riak G*i who is also the SPLM Chairperson for Jongeli State briefed the SPLM Secretary General on the current affairs of the SPLM Party in his State, including challenges and achievements following his recent extensive tours across several counties of Jongeli State.
Speaking to the press after the visit, H.E. Dr. Kok highlighted that they updated the Secretary General on the humanitarian situation in the flood-affected areas such as Fanjak, Pheny, and Twic East.
He explained that many citizens are displaced by the floods. He shared the State Governmentโs strategic plans to relocate the affected communities to safer areas.
The Governor also emphasized the importance of peace-building, noting the recent peace agreement between the people of Jongeli State and Greater Pibor Administrative Area. He said the accord had created an opportunity for encouraging citizens to return to agriculture, aligning with the governmentโs broader strategy of promoting self-reliance.
"We also raised concerns about the negative impacts of the floods and urged the national government to intervene" H.E. Dr. Riak stated, adding that they outlined the Stateโs future development plans during the discussions.
For his part, Cde. Prof. Jumi assured the delegation of SPLMโs support through the partyโs structures in the state. Governor Riak expressed his gratitude to the Secretary General for the warm reception and pledged continued collaboration for the benefit of Jongleโs citizens.

SPLM Secretary General Meets Speaker of the East Africa Youth Parliament
Juba, September 5th, 2025 - The SPLM Secretary General, Cde. Prof. Paul Logale Jumi, met Rt. Hon. Amb. Alaak Andrew Dau, the Speaker of the East Africa Youth Parliament and South Sudanโs Youth Ambassador to the East African Community (EAC).
The meeting centered on the forthcoming sitting of the East Africa Youth Parliament that is scheduled to take place from September 26th to September 27th, 2025 in Arusha, Tanzania.
The Rt. Hon. Amb. Alaak briefed the Secretary General on South Sudanโs representation in the Youth Parliament, highlighting the role such participation plays in strengthening the countryโs relationship with other member states in the region.
He further informed the Secretary General that for the first time since the establishment of the East Africa Youth Parliament, South Sudan has secured the Speakership after six previous Speakers from other partner states. He described this as a historic moment for both the SPLM and the nation, marking a milestone in youth leadership and regional cooperation.
In his remarks, Cde. Prof. Paul Logale Jumi commended the efforts of the youth in actively representing South Sudan within regional platforms.
He also encouraged the youth to continue engaging effectively in the structures of the EAC as a way of advancing the countryโs external relations with sister nations.
The Secretary General further urged the youth to extend their participation to other regional blocs, including the Great Lakes Region, thereby contributing to peace and cooperation at a broader level.
He femphasized the importance of collaboration between the youth and the party in building and widening relationships with neighboring countries, such as Tanzania, to strengthen South Sudanโs position in the region.
Rt. Hon. Amb. Alaak expressed his gratitude for the Secretary Generalโs encouragement and reiterated the youthโs commitment to representing the country with pride and dedication.

Juba, September 5th, 2025 - The Chief Administrator of Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA) and the SPLM Chairperson, Cde. Gola Boyoi Gola, met today with the SPLM Secretary General, Cde. Prof. Paul Logale Jumi, at his office in Juba.
The meeting focused on the importance of the Secretary Generalโs planned visit to Greater Pibor Administrative Area, which forms a part of his broader program to visit the States and Administrative Areas across the country.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Cde. Gola Boyoi described the discussion as fruitful. He said they had briefed the Secretary General on the party activities in GPAA and assured him of their readiness for the 2026 elections. He emphasized that the people of Greater Pibor are well-prepared and committed to supporting the SPLM during the electoral process.
Cde. Gola further noted that the Secretary General welcomed their update and reaffirmed his commitment to visiting Pibor. He expressed his happiness with the preparations and underscored the areaโs importance in the SPLMโs national outreach plan.
In conclusion, the GPAA Chief Administrator thanked the SPLM leadership and the Secretary General for the warm reception and expressed his anticipation of welcoming Prof. Jumi to Greater Pibor Administrative Area soon.
